DR Cillaliz - here's a recipe I've been using for years:
28 oz can Campbell's Pork & Beans
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup catsup
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon hotdog relish (mustard & pickle relish combo)
1 small onion, chopped (optional - I leave this out)
Combine and pour into a baking dish. Put bacon slices on top, if desired. Bake at 375o for about an hour, until bubbly.
This recipe doubles and triples well and I've made it in a crockpot with great success. Also, if you don't have the hotdog relish, just use a teaspoon and a half of mustard and half a teaspoon of pickle relish and the result is the same. And leftovers, cold, on pumpernickel bread make a great sandwich!
