I am struggling to understand, in all sincerity, what is to be gained from popping in here for 5 minutes every three or four months, making a purposely provocative statement, and then disappearing again.   ???

Cluck?

I am, obviously, back from my trip to Greenville with my mom, my aunt and my cousin.  Another cousin joined us for lunch while we were there.  We did a bunch of shopping (I did myself proud), and we had some fussing (families and car trips, dontchaknow) and it was cold.  Not as cold as some of you guys have experienced.  Temp got up to F 39 degrees today.  It's supposed to be F 23 tonight.  Over the next two days, the warmup begins gradually.  On Christmas Day, we expect we'll be back in the F 70s.

DS Betsy gave me a wonderful Dr. Scholl's massaging unit that DS Gabe is currently using on me.  Aaaaaaahhhhh.

Personally, I enjoy the disappearing part.  ;)

'Twas cold here in NYC today. The temperature hovered in the 20s with a morning low of 13. I've had worse but for many New Yorkers that is cold.

We went to see the tree in Rock Center this afternoon. It's bee-yooo-tee-full. When the pictures are taken off the memory card I will post one.

We then ambled (more like walked quickly) over to F.A.O. Schwartz and viewed very expensive toys for well off children.

We then walked over to 6th Avenue and 57th Street and took the F train home to 16th Street.

We spent the rest of the day indoors.  I spoke to my Uncle and my Aunt both of whom reside in Michigan and I will call the brothers and sisters on Thursday (when I am on Long Island).

That's all the news from my neck of the woods.

I was speaking to said relatives so I missed The Big Bang Theory. Oh, well. I will try to catch it in reruns (unless this episode was a rerun).

Cillaliz, they told me very sternly that if I tried to get an account with another card, they would cancel it because the phone number would be the same.

Hmm, maybe they have changed their policies that was a long time ago.  I didn't ask just typed in a new number

The problem is not the idea of the bailout, but that the banks are refusing to account for how the billions of dollars they've received is being spent.  I feel their refusal to do should be met with stern action by the government, threats even, because it's not THEIR money, it's the taxpayers' money and no one has any idea of how they're allocating these funds - for all anyone knows, it's going to the executives who CAUSED the problems in the first place.  All these banks have to do is provide information on how they've spent money that was GIVEN to them by the government.  Since they are refusing to do so, I think the government needs to say, "no more refusing - account or return the money immediately.  It's the height of chutzpah and shows that no one should have bailed anyone out without some form of accountability.

And the banks are still giving out millions in year-end bonuses.  That's Chutzpah!

I am informed that our office will be open tomorrow...despite that fact that the weather is much worse today then it was yesterday...so I will put on my snow shoes and walk, I think. I just am afraid to drive the car when the snow is deeper then the roof.
