I, too, believe Bush, George W., will be considered, possibly, the worst "president" in history...and relatively soon, too.

Relatively soon?  Didn't he already reach that designation four years ago?

It was further ago than that, wasn't it?

singdaw - Poly-dorsal isn't a word?

Wasn't she Miss America 1957?

Nope. Any red-blooded South Carolinian knows that Marian McKnight was Miss America 1957.

So, is "red-blooded" a euphemism in South Carolina?

I am struggling to understand, in all sincerity, what is to be gained from popping in here for 5 minutes every three or four months, making a purposely provocative statement, and then disappearing again.   ???

Personally, I enjoy the disappearing part.  ;)

LOL! Gave me my best laugh of the day. Thank you, DR JMK.

And I certainly concur.

Back from a a wonderful Christmas dinner and party. These are among my dearest friends, and I always look forward to this celebration.

And I came away with a couple of Blu-rays I had wanted: BONNIE AND CLYDE and BODY HEAT. So several other things too, but my senses were inspired by these Blu-ray titles.

Yes, but only because I saw pictures. I was too young in 1957 to stay up to see the pageant back then. You're too young to understand most likely, but the Miss America Pageant was one of the BIG events of the year back in those days. As big as the Super Bowl is now, and I'm not kidding.

And, for your information, Marian McKnight was the first Miss America from South Carolina, so she was a very special lady in our state and was as famous as a local lass could become back in those days.

Later, we retired to the home theater and watched the Patrick Stewart version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL (not the solo version; the one made for TNT). I had never seen it before, and I did not care for it very much. I found it dour, choppy, and uninspiring. Not a version I'll ever want to see again.

When I got home, I had a review disc set awaiting me: the Criterion Eclipse box set of three Rossalini history films. I've never seen any of these, so I know what I'll be watching over the next few days.

bk - As for your new mailbox set-up...

1) It's always good to check your "Saved" folder from time to time just to make sure your emails are being saved to/on your computer.  I'm guessing you were walked through setting up a "rule" to automatically save your emails to your computer after reading them - instead of them just being saved on the server. -I usually have to manually drap and drop the emails to my Saved folder.

2) Not that you're "off" of AOL, it's probably easiest to keep your .aol email address instead of eventually "migrating" over to gmail.

3) There is one trick you can utilize to "transfer" some of the contents of your Filing Cabinet over to your (Mac)Mail-box.  You launch AOL, then go into your Filing Cabinet.  Select a block of messages, then select "Keep As New".  They will then appear in your "new" mailbox too. Then just navigate to those messages to save them to your new mailbox - and while you're at it, you go through each message and then select "Add Contact to Address Book".  -Of course, this will only the name and email address, not any other contact info you may have added to the AOL Address Book.

DR MattH - I apologize for my non-intentional snarkiness.  I guess that was the Yankee in me coming out.  -I was born in Boston.  -Which would actually make a Red Sox.. Sock... ::)

I just know that for some male members of my generation, if you happened to watch the Miss America Pageant, and remember the Names and Years, well...  You probably had a gown of your own somewhere in your closet. At the very least, the matching set of pumps.
