Then I started watching the Olympic skating from last night. I only got through the Japanese skater, but he skated rings around Plushenko overall with great spins and footwork.

I thought so too.

When I watched the Japanese skater in agony at physical therapy I teared up in sympathy.  I'm very grateful my PT no longer hurts like that.  I was then inspired to work extra hard during my afternoon exercises.

My sister and I are agog (yes, agog) with all the info DR Jane's Keith has unearthed about my father's family.  Growing up we were literally forbidden from talking about his upbringing, due to the trauma and all, and we never really had any firm facts until I was able to access the foster care records around 1994 or so.  That gave Keith enough preliminary info to go on, but he has worked wonders.  The funny thing is, we have my mother's family tree going back to the 1300's and I couldn't care less about it (despite being related to some very famous Swiss families).  The mystery of my father's genealogy has always fascinated me.

In my family it's my mom's side we don't know about.  Well she knows who her birth parents were, but she refuses to tell any of us.  I'm hoping to learn someday.  My grandmother never wanted us to know mom was adopted, so mom won't talk even though we all know that,

That is really a shame Cilla.  Tell your mother her grandchildren may want to search their family history one day.

Now that I'm caught up on the ice skating I would be watching the dog show, if only it had recorded.  I have no idea why it didn't.

George, how would having a party exclude you?  We'd do it on a non-play day.

Ahhh...thanks. :)

Watching the sequel to that OSS 117 movie - it's very cute.  The Blu and Ray would not load on my Samsung player - I mean I got to the menu but there was no screen that came up to actually play the movie.  I put it in my all-region Momitsu, where the same screen came up, but when you click enter on the little globe that's there, then other options pop out - that's what didn't happen on the Samsung - probably need a firmware upgrade, but why they make these things so that all players can't handle them is one reason that Blu-Ray will never catch on and be mainstream (that's pretty much clear at this point).

The irony is my mom is totally into geneology, but she just works on my dad's side of the family.  I'm sure that one day we'll know. On my dad's side I helped trace us back to the 1600s in Scotland.

Pet peeve o' the day department:  There is no such phrase as "but yet."  There is "but."  Or there is "yet."  They are both exclusionary interjections.  The two together are redundantly redundant and make me about as mad as "could care less."

And then there's "from whence."

I am loving the Olympics coverage.  I don't get a lot of sleep and have to work to try not to hear results in advance, but I like the skipping to other sports I may not have chosen to see, but find I really enjoy,. And I love the profiles or the athletes and even the polar bears etc...

Hey Bruce,

You've probably answered these questions 1000 times, but since it's ASK BK DAY, and I'm new here, perhaps you'll humor me.

How did you initially get into acting?

What character did you have the most fun playing?

Was Susan Dey as adorable on the set of the Partridge Family as she appeared on screen?

 ;D

Well, I must now be leaving!  Tonight (as soon as I leave and go directly to the theater), I will be seeing a touring production of Avenue Q!  I won two tickets to any Washington Center-sponsored event, and I chose this.  I'm sure it'll be fabulous! :D

I think you should just wait until the book comes out, which won't be all that long.  Any question that anyone could ever have about my career is in there, including a somewhat lengthy section on Miss Dey :)

As to the roots of why I wanted to be an actor, I refer you to the three Kritzer books - which you should have in your library (Josh works for a library) :)

Ok, my curiousity level is now at an all-time high.  Looking forward to your new book (and getting ahold of the older ones, which inexplicably aren't available from my library...yet).

Fr. Richard conducted his first Ash Wednesday service this evening and did very well.  Afterwards, we picked up Subway tuna sandwiches, chips, and cookies and came back to our hotel room to eat and watch the Olympics.

I agree with DR Cillaliz - we are totally absorbed with the coverage.  Yes, I might like C-Span style coverage of the figure skating, but we like sampling lots of events that we don't usually see.  Richard and I do react differently to the interviews and personal stories - I love them and he wants to mute them.

DR George - have fun seeing Avenue Q!  We loved it when we saw it in NYC last summer.

Congratulations to Fr. Richard.

You may differ on when to press mute, but at least you both enjoy watching the Olympics. :)
