Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a piece of Mahler's with almonds, and now it is time for you to post until Mahlerian cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROPOUND!
-
And a very happy birthday to Jennifer, who hasn't really been around these here parts in AGES.

I didn't know that the day of announcing had been announced:
-
And a Very Happy Birthday to DR Jennifer!! :D
-
Jennifer hasn't posted since October. I hope all is well with her.
-
Good morning, all!

Still no word from the IRS on that damned return. My friend Ben Massaitis said he got the same message and thenb his return showed up two days later. If my memory is correct, the IRS only pays out on Wednesdays, so perhaps next Wednesday will see mine land. It's really eatinf me up, I must say.
-
DR JohnG, the ballet that is online is the Saturday night performance, which I think had the overall best cast. Marzio, the conductor, thought that perform, ance was also the orchestra's best.
-
Today, I need to ask a favor of my fifth floor neighbor Jen. Since my printer is dead and I need to buy a new one, I need her to pront out a W9 form for me. Beyond that, my plan is to continue to proofread the new Charleston finale.

Friday!

I loved DR JANE's story and photos last night!

I enjoyed the discussion of classical music and composers yesterday.

I shall be doing my weekly shopping in a bit.....and I may stop by the Goodwill and get my ascot......so to speak.

I know what elmore is going through - crazy times.

Maybe I should go to bed.

Just a thought.

Good morning, all.

Opening night vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & Co.
Thank you, DR Jrand73. It is, indeed, finally (because I attended a lot of rehearsals for this one), time for another op’nin’, another show.

I’m thrilled to hear that the Saturday night ballet is what’s online. All of them were wonderful, and it was a special thrill seeing the first one in NYC, but I thought that last one was simply stupendous.
-
What with playing the show tonight and twice tomorrow, I shall plan on treating myself to a command performance on Sunday or Monday evening — on the Big TV and through the Big Speakers. And how to do that? I guess I’ll plug the laptop into one of the receiver inputs and have at it.

DR RODZINSKI is only a state away from me....well a state and a half.
-
The lawn is mowed......and I can feel it.
-
No rehearsal tonight.
-
DR CHAS SMITH I hope your Man (Men) In the Chair have as much fun with the audience as I did....I still think MR BK should be cast in the part ASAP.
-
Page Three.
-
DR JOHN G World Of Giants is lost opportunity.....very weird....and about half way through, they add a love interest for the scientist (not the little guy) who is pretty butch for a love interest.
And Allison's episode is another lot of nothing, although she looks nice.....and it is directed by Nathan Juran - who directed DR ELMORE's favorite Allison performance in Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.
I think Stella should watch a few of Miss Allison's movies to get some acting tips.
-
I baked some chicken breasts.....and I had about a cup of barbecue leftover.....so I put that on top when I broiled them for a few minutes at the end of the process.
I shall report back when they have been tasted.
-
No rehearsal for me tonight.
At 10:30 p.m. the Minnesota Timberwolves are playing the Phoenix Suns.....but mostly we will get a Luka Garza fashion show on the bench.
-
Well of all things.
I needed to get a music track without vocals.....and I have used software before, but there is always an echo of the vocals.
NOW with this AI application you can get a MUSIC ONLY track from an MP3....and an isolated vocal track if you want it. And it works very well.
So if you want to sing a Patsy Cline song for karaoke and no track is available, you can make your own. Or if you are in a show and you want to make a rehearsal track for yourself.....Voy La!

DR CHAS SMITH I hope your Man (Men) In the Chair have as much fun with the audience as I did....I still think MR BK should be cast in the part ASAP.
(Man. Only the 4 female leads were double-cast, don't know why. Maybe just because they could.)
I certainly hope he does. The kid knows the role backward and forward. My only concern (if I were responsible, which thank GAWD I'm not) would be that everything he says is clearly understood. Between the weird sound system issues they're having for some reason, and his and a couple of the other kids' inexperience at executing/pacing their dialogue super clearly, I'm definitely in some suspense as to how well audience members seeing this for the first time will understand everything.
-
Whoa. (re the Vocal Remover)
I shall have to experiment with that sometime.
-
Oh dear. I look forward to the repor.
I loved playing with the audience and responding to their comments....it was glorious and an unforgettable experience for me....if NOT the audience.....LOL
But if you spoke up - you got a response. Tea was spilled. And of course I LOVED the moment when I said: "Are you surprised that I was married?" LOL.....
-
Oh man, that sounds great. It's also, sadly, the difference between a young green actor and someone experienced who knows how to do that stuff. Was any of your production captured on video?
-
It may have been....I shall have to ask.
-
I loved DR JANE's story and photos last night!
Thank you.

VERY slow.

I'm up, I'm up - got up at four due to not having gone to sleep until almost seven in the morning.

I'd say what a day, but not much day to say it about.

Ordered Panda Express - didn't feel like going to Gelson's.

Listening to the "Exit Music" track from Sondheim's Here We Are, which has been released in advance from the forthcoming cast recording. It's very sparkly.
-
The horn part is pretty tricky.
-
Has anyone listened to Barbra's new single from "The Tattooist of Auschwitz"? It's pretty understated, but I guess that would be in keeping with the theme.
-
I really appreciated BK's survey of the Mahler symphonies in today's notes.
-
Makes me want to go and listen to some stuff.

Perhaps when I retire I'll have time to listen to all the stuff I want to listen to.

But that is quite a few years off.

I am tired.

Good night, friends.
-
Good evening.
-
I have been busy helping to prepare for a funeral tomorrow. The Guest of Honor was one of the people who ran everything ... until she became incapacitated with Alzheimer's. She has been in a home for six years. The new people at church don't know who she is.
-
But she knew everyone, and we expect a big turnout.
-
We are having a Mexican food dinner afterwards. I cooked several pounds of black beans and made some vegan taco filling.
Tomorrow morning I will make several pounds of cilantro lime rice. And chop lots of vegetables.
-
We set the fellowship room yesterday and set up the buffet tables.
-
They ordered Costco cakes -- a family favorite.
-
Laura, have you heard of The Funeral Ladies of Ellerie County? It’s a book about exactly what you have described. Said to be good.
-
I’m watching my last episode of 21 Beacon Street. It was good, not great.
-
I did enjoy the oddity of seeing commercials for Kent cigarettes.
-
DeForest Kelly is the guest star of this last episode.
-
A hearty appetite for a good cigarette. … No substitutes in Kent.
-
Another commercial was offering free tickets to Europe for the best essays on the topic of what you’d tell people behind the Iron Curtain.
-
But she knew everyone, and we expect a big turnout.
So sorry to hear of this loss to the community.
-
Wondering how former dear reader and Darling Daughter of dear reader Laura, Sandra, is doing?
-
Happy birthday, DR Jennifer. Hope you’re doing well.
-
Good night, all.

I had a solar fan installed in my attic today to try to battle high temperatures under the roof. Hope it works. Last summer was awfully hot.
A former co-worker had some installed in his attic and in his garage. He said they helped immensely!
-
Page six seems very wrong.
-
Especially at twelve-thirty.
-
Where, for example, did George get to?
-
Certainly he has left the room.
-
Ordered Panda Express - didn't feel like going to Gelson's.
Hopefully, you enjoyed the Panda!
-
Perhaps he's eating a burrito.
-
Or a tongue sandwich.
-
Where, for example, did George get to?
I'm ketchuping on the posts and will comment as necessary. :)
-
I did enjoy Panda Express.
-
Comment.
-
In between bites of the corn dog or the pizza you're wolfing down.

I'm thinking of having a matzo with butter.

Had the Panda around five.

Listening to the "Exit Music" track from Sondheim's Here We Are, which has been released in advance from the forthcoming cast recording. It's very sparkly.

Has anyone listened to Barbra's new single from "The Tattooist of Auschwitz"? It's pretty understated, but I guess that would be in keeping with the theme.
I didn't know about it.
-
I'm letting the whipped butter soften a bit so it spreads easier.
-
Who wrote the music to Barbra's new single?
-
Who's got the pain when they do the mambo?
-
I don't know who, do you?
-
Has George finished his pastrami with mayo?
-
Or is he feasting on steak au poivre?
-
Or could it be a fish stick?
-
Or a Whopper?
-
Or Wendy's?
-
Or maybe a Subway Eyetalian thing.
-
He's disappeared.
-
He's the Harvey of this site at this time.
-
Who wrote the music to Barbra's new single?
Here's the video with lyrics, but it doesn't say who wrote it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9mZoJiLU_8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9mZoJiLU_8)
-
Oh, look! It's Page Seven!
-
But who isn't?
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
In case anyone was wondering.
-
There has been a dearth of folks around these here parts.
-
ChasSmith must report on his opening - well, that doesn't sound right - his opening night.
-
I searched and found that the song was composed by Hans Zimmer, Kara Talve and Walter Afanasieff with lyrics by Charlie Midnight.
-
Now what is George eating? Rabbit stew?
-
I wonder if Charlie Midnight wrote the lyrics at midnight?
-
DR George is not here with a burrito.
No, I had a chicken fried steak and egg with pancakes from Shari's for dinner. My friend Shelly and I went there after playing cards where I won a game!
-
And who the HELL is Charlie Midnight? We're a long way from Michel Legrand and the Bergmans, baby.
-
But Hans must be happy.
-
I love a good chicken fried steak. The Coral Cafe does a very good one.
-
I have been busy helping to prepare for a funeral tomorrow. The Guest of Honor was one of the people who ran everything ... until she became incapacitated with Alzheimer's. She has been in a home for six years. The new people at church don't know who she is.
My condolences, Laura. :(
-
Never had it with an egg, though.
-
I love a good chicken fried steak. The Coral Cafe does a very good one.
This was not bad...not fantastic, but I certainly enjoyed it.
-
But was a chicken fried steak enough food?
-
Shouldn't you be having a turkey melt right about now?
-
Or some creamed spinach?
-
Or some shrimp scampi.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Wondering how former dear reader and Darling Daughter of dear reader Laura, Sandra, is doing?
Hopefully, well. Her birthday was just this past Monday.
-
I really did.
-
Sandra must be quite elderly by now.
-
Of course, if she's elderly, what the HELL am I?
-
Actually, what the hell AM I?
-
Where, for example, did George get to?
I has returned...of course.
-
A Jew with an attitude?
-
An attitude with a Jew?
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
I think the whipped butter may have sufficiently softened.
-
A Jew with an attitude?
One of the lines in Incorruptible is, "You are a pagan with an attitude." ;D
-
Or a tongue sandwich.
NEVER!! :P
