Today is MEATLOAF THURSDAY at the Oakland Museum Cafe!

I refuse to eat any museum's meatloaf without knowing it's provenance.

I heard there was a seven point earthquake in Big Bear.  I heard it at Kinko's when I was Fed Exing when some woman on a cell phone said it.  However, every time I hear something like that, it turns out to be a two point earthquake or something.

No one felt anything.  She had nothing right, this stupid, stupid idiot woman.  It was centered in Yucaipa, it was 4.9 and there was no damage, and most people weren't even aware of it.  This is what drives me crazy about the world in which we live - these hysterical people who mis-hear, misunderstand, or listen to the media, who just report whatever they feel like.

Book:     Portrait of Jenny (far better than the movie)

Movies:  The Uninvited, one of my favorite Ray Milland films.
              The Ghost & Mrs. Muir.
              Sixth Sense.

Ron I almost forgot Here Comes Mr. Jordan/Heaven Can Wait.
I liked Ghost, it just doesn’t top my list.

TV:         Topper,
              Ghost & Mrs. Muir

Plays:     Secret Garden, but not for the ghosts.
               Blithe Spirit

Caught up, at last.

Yesterday's TOD: I thought Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines was funny and sophisticated stuff when I saw it as a wee sprig of a, but it hasn't held up well at all.

Today's TOD:

Oompityfratz years ago (in 1970, in fact) a television movie called Sole Survivor aired, starring Vince Edwards and Richard Basehart.  It was about an Air Force bomber that had crashed in the Lybian desert, with one survivor (Basehart).  Edwards was in charge of an investigation, at first just to tie up the loose ends.  Meanwhile, those who hadn't survived the crash were still with the plane...

Well, BK, I only reported what I read about today's quake...that it was a 5.3.

I'll blindfold myself just before dawn and stand on my balcony.

If you can find me, you can shoot me!

THAT is a GREAT movie!  But if memory serves, it was William Shatner who was the suvivor.  Or it's possible I'm getting it mixed up with another movie.  Maybe it was Richard Basehart but I keep seeing Shatner in my minds eye.

Abby Dalton used to live in Big Bear. I don't know where she is now.

I may soon find out where Martha Tilton is, however!

Good Evening!

Well...

Nothing like going to the theatre to pick up one's paycheck, and then realizing it's only for HALF a week's pay?!?!?!

>:(

Needless to say, a phone call or two or three will be in order first thing in the morning.

-And that's enough of that for now...
