Well, you've read the notes, the notes forgot what they were supposed to be about, and now it is time for you to post until the forgetful cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AMPHISCIANS!
-
First post after BK!
-
I hope you enjoy Betty Buckley's performance, BK.
-
The only professional production of Hello, Dolly! that I've seen was almost exactly 10 years ago (doing a search here on HHW, I actually saw it on March 10, 2009) when I saw Jenifer Lewis as Dolly at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. She was a hoot and it was a great production.
-
I've seen several local productions and, of course, some were better than others. ::)
-
Well, it's bed time, but I don't have to get up to go to work, so I won't. :D
Have a good day, all!
-
I saw Ginger Rogers in Dolly in Madison in the 60s. A couple of days later a friend who was in the Air Force said quite casually, "My friend Si was in town, and we went out to dinner with Ginger. They're old friends." Grrr!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I will leave here around 8:45 for my doctor's appointment, which I hope will go well.
-
I'll go directly from there to City Center.
-
No tries on my Cross Works riddles? Sigh! Perhaps the rules of the game aren't clear. I'll give you one.
Who starred in My Fair Ark?
Rex [Harrison] Ford
Capisc'? The other two should be clear now, and btb (by the bye in Internet slang) they form a longer chain, which is a whole nother kettle of mahi-mahi.
Who wrote The Golden Wake?
Who wrote Finnigan's Trees?
-
Good morning, all.
-
The only professional productions of Hello, Dolly! I have seen starred Carol Channing.

That sounds like fun. She’s a wonderful performer.
-
Annabelle and I did not patrol this morning, but she doesn't seem angry about it. Maybe we'll step out when I return this afternoon.
-
I'm about ready to leave. I've fed the cats, washed their dishes, cleaned the litter, refilled their kibble and water, and I'm ready for a nap.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The only professional "Dolly's" I've seen are Ginger, Channing (first tour), and Bernadette.
Tonight I play the college rehearsal, which should be most interesting.
-
Weather forecasts for tomorrow are all over the place, as far as what mix and how much precip there will be. None of it sounds particularly conducive for us getting into the city to see Merrily. Or for getting home without difficulty. Trains are out of the question due to everyone's schedule. At least I'm not the one doing the driving, although I do have to get to the other person's house and back. Oy!
-
Safe driving!

I saw it with Ginger Rogers and David Burns.
I have seen Channing in other stage productions (e.g. LORELI and a co-appearance with George Burns)

The notes have laid me low....or lain me low....or lay me low.....hell, i don't know.
DR WILLIAM F ORR you are challenging my memory - which no longer exists.
-
Ginger and Si are old friends? Who knew?
-
Vibes for the brother in law of DR TCB.
-
Since there is still snow on the ground, I postponed Monday's shopping until Tuesday.....
Rain predicted for tomorrow, but that's all right.
-
When did the Grammy Awards eliminate the Polka category?
-
I didn't watch the Awards themselves....too many folks I don't know and who don't particularly want me for their audience....but two CD's in the list I read sound interesting:
SuperHeroes - Randy Waldman
Doctor Atomic - a new recording by Robert Adams of his opera
-
TOD:
Mr. Don Loper! He was a close friend of all of the wives of the stars!
Christian Dior
Lucy Gallant
Edith Head
Travilla
I know those are costume designers, but they made some great stuff!
-
DR Jane I used to use the netipot but have not used it in years. Thanks for thinking of me.
-
We are expecting a bad snowstorm Tuesday night/Wednesday. Right now it shows 20-30cms on Tuesday night and another 10-15 cms on Wednesday (1 inch is 2.5 cms). I wonder if they would even consider closing the schools for that.

Just so you know:
Since January 23rd, Mercury has been zipping through the sign of Aquarius, giving us lightning bolt insights about, well… everything. If you’ve noticed your mind has been all over the place while your computer has a million tabs open and you’re constantly in your head thinking, researching, and endlessly craving mental stimulation, these days are about to come to an end. Although the Sun is still in Aquarius until the 18th, Mercury, ruler of our mind, is already moving on into the next sign. With Mercury in Pisces, there is more of an essence of getting lost in daydreams as well as thinking and talking about emotions and feelings as well as spiritual healing as we speak our words with greater compassion and sensitivity for others for the next few weeks.
-
Monday afternoon greetings! I slept until 9am today, which is very late for me. Last week was busy with meetings and appointments, which is my excuse for being scarce around here.
-
I'd complain about the weather, but it's nothing compared to what our PNW friends are dealing with right now.
-
Vibes for DR TCB's brother-in-law!
-
The producer of A Gentleman’s Guide, Joseph Sirola, has died. He was 89.
-
Yep, just read that.
-
DR Jane I used to use the netipot but have not used it in years. Thanks for thinking of me.
I am glad you haven't needed it.
-
I'd complain about the weather, but it's nothing compared to what our PNW friends are dealing with right now.
It continues to rain here.
While the weather predictions were correct for TCB & George we lucked out down here and they were way off though we could still get hit with the next snow storm.
-
So HHW cooks and chefs.....do you slice your tomatoes from top (or bottom) stem to the end or from side to side.....
8)
-
Side to side
-
The chicken pasta salad turned out okay.....I can eat it for the next three days or so.....

Hurray for DR JOHN G.
The House That Dripped Blood arrived at my house today.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep due to finishing the Versace series.
-
Back home from doctor and City Center. I've lost seven more pounds. I'm not complaining.
-
Damn. Congrats. That's exactly what I need to do.
-
So HHW cooks and chefs.....do you slice your tomatoes from top (or bottom) stem to the end or from side to side.....
8)
Stem side up and slice side to side.
-
There are a lot of videos out there showing various ways to properly slice a tomato.
-
Back home from doctor and City Center. I've lost seven more pounds. I'm not complaining.
Congratulations!
-
CD received!
-
Good afternoon.
-
They were saying that our snow would be turning into rain today, but it has been snowing like crazy for the last few hours.
-
It is showing no sign of becoming rain!
-
Last night I watched FNTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM. I enjoyed the movie, but I had a terrible time understanding anything that Eddie Redmayne said in the film.
-
Thank you DR JANE. That's the way I usually do it....but I think I get more slices the other way.....I can't decide....so I alternate.
-
MR BK - Ryan Murphy is doing a FOSSE/VERDON mini series that starts in March, I think......on FX.....
-
Back home from doctor and City Center. I've lost seven more pounds. I'm not complaining.
Congrats, Larry!
-
I'm home and have been all day. It's been snowing all day, too!
-
Well, since we're so close...

PAGE THREE DANCE!!

Here was my back yard on Friday:

And here is my back yard this afternoon:

Thank you DR JANE. That's the way I usually do it....but I think I get more slices the other way.....I can't decide....so I alternate.
Do you use a serrated knife?
-
DR George thanks for the before and current photos so we can see the difference.
-
CD received!
I have mine sent to my work, but I don't yet know if it'll will be open tomorrow. I may not get mine until Wednesday or Thursday.
-
And here is my back yard this afternoon:
That’s a LOT of snow!
-
They were saying that our snow would be turning into rain today, but it has been snowing like crazy for the last few hours.
That's what I'd just heard, but that it wouldn't change for another hour or so.
-
My weather app says that it'll be warming up from now on. Hoo and Ray (if it actually happens)!!
-
DR George thanks for the before and current photos so we can see the difference.
I was very surprised myself!
-
And here is my back yard this afternoon:
That’s a LOT of snow!
I know, right??
-
Well, I just got a text that tomorrow my building will be closed again!
-
The Fosse/Verdon eight episode mini-series starts in April. It stars Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams.
-
I'm ketchuping on past episodes of Manifest, but they're from October.
-
It's weird seeing political commercials from before the election. :P
-
And Christmas commercials. ::)
-
It's raining!! :D
-
Well, I just got a text that tomorrow my building will be closed again!
Again, enjoy your snow day :)
-
It's raining!! :D
As the snow melts be careful when you drive and watch out for black ice.
-
It has not stopped snowing all day!
-
You too DR TCB.
-
TCB did you get your groceries?
-
Remember those two checks posted on Jan. 18 and Feb. 1 posted to my HMO? The one from Feb. 1 cleared the bank today, but the earlier one still remains in limbo. I'd consider it lost, but as sure as I do, it will come in.
-
Did they receive the check in time as not to lose your insurance?
Vibes they don't cash the first check without your permission.
-
TCB did you get your groceries?
Nope.
-
Do you have enough food?
-
Continued vibes for your brother in-law!
-
It seems Tom left.
-
I began reading "The Hate U Give" and am enjoying it. As suspected I doubt it will be awhile before I want to see the movie. I do want to know what others think of it if the watch it.
-
Good evening.
-

WFO, I am not smart enough to play your game
-
It's raining!! :D
As the snow melts be careful when you drive and watch out for black ice.
Well, I don't plan on driving anywhere tomorrow, so it won't be difficult. ;)

Congratulations Elmore, if I could of that every other week or so I might not look like a whale at the wedding

So, I'm watching the seventh episode of Manifest, and I just realized that the main character's name is Benjamin Stone. That can't be a coinkydink (even though no other character is named after a character in Follies).
;)
-
Back home from doctor and City Center. I've lost seven more pounds. I'm not complaining.
Congratulations. I think I found all seven.
-
They are threatening us with snow tomorrow
It's supposed to get up to 70 and then drop to 35 tomorrow. Ugh.
-
The Fosse/Verdon eight episode mini-series starts in April. It stars Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams.
I'd like to see that. Michelle Williams is an interesting actress. She was the only thing I liked in The Greatest Showman, and her dancing was excellent.
-

Started another one of my library movies instead. An old 1950s movie about Luther that they used to show us in school and at church every year. I don't remember much of it, though, except the cinematography is excellent. The shadows are great.

I feel stupid. I just now got it.
Henry James Joyce and James Joyce Kilmer.
It's been a very trying Monday.

Krista from work was released from the hospital, but the babies have to stay another week maybe. They were born a month early, but both are doing well and the doctors are said to be very pleased with their progress.
-
Having a very difficult day, mostly to do with the helper - if we can't get things on the right road, I'm going to have to make a change very soon.
-
This is joyously funny. Give me some of that ol' atonal music ...

Great news, John!

At least you don't have to drive far in it ;)

Good evening.
Back from a DOLLY rehearsal, with nothing enlightening to report. No time or opportunity to broach the subject of a certain Galop.

Latest news:
We are, now, NOT going to see Merrily tomorrow. The weather forecasts are dire enough to keep reasonable people like ourselves off the roads completely. Happily, the person who got us the tickets says there's a process or two by which we can still use them, so they shan't be wasted and we'll get there later, hopefully in this very week.
-
Good news on the tickets, ChasSmith.
-
Good night, all.

Whew! I know a couple of local theater groups that have had to cancel and reschedule shows this past weekend.

I forgot to look out the window so I have no idea if it is still raining. Mostly it hasn't rainec too hard.
-
We have a plumber coming at 8:00 tomorrow to replace our on/off water valve. Not only will he have to shut off our water but the water to the 2 units above us.
Too many of these valves in the buildings have broken and done damage so everyone is required to replace them. For some strange reason some portion of this was installed behind the dry wall. ::)
-

It's been raining here for the last several hours. :D
-
Good evening.
-
I have no idea what it is doing outside.
-
I moved to the bedroom when the sun went to bed.
-
At the time, it was still snowing, but it looked like it was starting to change over to rain.
-
I couldn’t get to my car, because there was too much snow in the parking area.
-
I could tell there was almost a foot of snow on the roof of my car.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I could tell there was almost a foot of snow on the roof of my car.
I'm sure that there was on mine, too. I know that there was more than a foot of snow in my backyard.

I got my tax refund deposited into my account today, even though my credit union was closed today.

Hi, George.
-
I got my tax refund deposited into my account today, even though my credit union was closed today.
Not terribly exciting to anyone but me.

Was there a noticeable difference in the amount that you got back this year? There have been several reports about people getting much less than they have in previous years because of new tax rules.
-
Well...
-
...since we're so close...
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
Actually, I got a larger refund this year.
-
#151+1
-
If it is really raining outside tonight, I am hoping it will wash all of the snow away.
-
I need to pick up my laundry, and I need to go to the store.
-
Actually, I got a larger refund this year.
That's great!
-
Wait a minute! I think I got a larger refund, but I need to check last year’s return to make sure that is correct.
-
Whatever happened to the old adage... “neither rain, nor snow........”?
-
The postal carrier did not come to our apartment building today!
-
Of course, neither did Fed Ex, or UPS, or any of the other companies.
-
I don’t even think Pizza Hut showed up.
-
Oh well, the big storm of 2019 is now over.
-
So, good night, George.
-
The postal carrier did not come to our apartment building today!
I didn't check to see if my place got mail today.

So, good night, George.
Good night, Tom.
