And I'd call the management at Gelson's. They will want the leftovers, but if they dispose of it, then you wouldn't have anything to give to the authorities if they need to investigate.

I have the best solution:  drive back to Gelson's right now with it, vomit on their floor, and then politely ask for a refund.  ;)

Today was the quarterly congregational meeting, which I didn't need to attend, since I'm not the minute-taker any more. Huzzah!

We just learned that our local symphony orchestra honored Richard's brother John last night and didn't even bother to notify his wife that it was being done.  I'm sure some of us would have made the effort to be there if we'd known.

how odd not to notify his wife, kind of bittersweet.

Maybe this is why NO body ever wears a hat anymore.  It's certainly a good argument against them.

it doesn't look like a hat

I went to Gelson's to get a snack.  Bought some cucumber roll and some cantaloupe and pineapple slices.  I had two little pieces of the cucumber roll.  After the first I thought that it didn't taste right - after the second I knew something was wrong - don't know what it is but somehow it was rotten - I hope I didn't eat enough to get sick.

save your receipt so you can get your money back.  you did them them know?

Oh....COLTS won!  AFC Champions, going to the Super Bowl.

Just so you know.

That's not really much of a surprise, is it? I mean, I know a little about the NFL, but they did have one of the better teams this year.

Everyone thought it was someone else's job, I'm sure.

You're too kind, DR JRand.  It's just tacky, tacky, tacky.

down right rude if you ask me, but then no one asked me :)

I spent the entire evening with Blake Carrington and company jetting all around the world and seeing all the Emmy-winning costumes in all their glory. I haven't kept count, but this show must have featured more kissing scenes than any other show in the history of television.

I have managed today to watch 10 of the 13 episodes in the set. Good news for me since I have only three left, and there are no bonus features with the set, so I'll be done with DYNASTY tomorrow afternoon leaving me the entire evening tomorrow to watch TWILIGHT recorded off Showtime-HD last night. Of course, CHUCK and '24' and CASTLE are likely on tomorrow night, but I should have time to fir some of them in as well.

A note for DR MBarnum:

The hunky John Saxon is playing a Middle Eastern sheik Amed, and at one point he comes out of Alexis' bedroom wrapped in only a shortie towel. Wow! What a great body that man had in that scene!  Took my breath away!

It has rained most of the evening. Not a hard rain but a steady one. We were running about half an inch below normal until today. I suspect we're ahead of the game now since it's been raining pretty consistently all afternoon and evening.

Well, that was a quick evening surf, but things seem to be pretty quiet here. I guess I'll finish up the writing and then head downstairs and go to bed.

Good night!

For those DRs in NYC who may be looking to stock up on some books, Skyline Books in Chelsea - across the street from Academy Records on 18th Street - is closing at the end of this week/month.  They're discounting all books 75%-off starting today.
And so close to City Bakery!

I feel very lucky! My flight was delayed by 3 hours, not leaving until after midnight. When I checked my bag I was told no earlier flights were available. While waiting at the gate I happened to ask the gate agent if the departure time was still after midnight. She got me AND my bag on to an earlier delayed  flight so I'm going to be home before midnight. Finally something goes right, travel-wise!

Next to Normal was so good! (Thanks DR Ben for helping me decide!) I sent a note to Alice Ripley sending regards from bk and our Jews and  baseball composer, Michael Roth, who was mentioned in Alice's bio in the program.

I just spent 5 hours in the emergency room, which was fun.

Chest pains.

Thankfully, it was not my heart.  The doctor thinks it's gastroesophageal reflux disease, so he's referred me to a gastroenterologist and, just to be safe, a cardiologist.

 :(

~~~Vibes for DR Druxy!!~~~
Just had my call from muse Margaret, who told me she was exhausted from reading over 100 pages, but that she'd loved every second of them.  I was very concerned about the length of the Nudie Musical section, but she said she would not lose one word of it - she told me it felt like she was there, which, of course, was the goal.  She only had three little things for me to fix - two little deletions and one little addition.  Very happy.
My Algerian cabbie also was having acid reflux problems. I was lucky to have some Tums with me. He hugged me after he carried my bags to the curb. Nice guy!
