Glad it went well, George.

Thanks, Fred!  I think we all are!

OK, Washingtonians, what is life like in Yakima? And has anyone seen a magazine called Good Fruit Grower? Just saw a job posted for it. Sounds wonderful. But I think I'm too stuck to want to move.

I don't know very much...Yakima is on the east side of the state, and it's practically a different world over there.  From what I've heard, it can be very dry and warm, whereas the west side of the Cascades are greener and cooler (we're much closer to water...Puget Sound and the ocean).

I was distressed to learn that the people who lived across the street from me and who had always maintained an immaculate front yard (unlike my attempts at Darwinian gardening) had lost their home to foreclosure. I didn't know them very well. They spoke Spanish and not much English. But they were always friendly and had an adorable little girl.

That's very sad!

It's not been a day for good news. I just found out that a friend I used to work discovered her mother's body after the mother had committed suicide. Jenny had had a long history of dealing with her mother's mental condition, which could be a bit like a roller coaster, and I guess her mom reached the point where she just couldn't go on. So, please keep Jenny in your thoughts, prayers and vibes today.

:o

DR George I"m glad that you noticed that NBC was re-showing the Closing Ceremonies later last night. I would have mentioned it if i had seen your post last night.

Thanks, Jennifer.  I'll watch it over the next several days.

Sian Phillips will certainly be a different Mrs Morgan than Sara Allgood!

What a coinkydink (sort of)!  Just yesterday during the strike of "Titus," I was talking with the young woman who played the nurse...she was whistling tunes from A Little Night Music...and I eventually told her about the studio recording of ALNM with Sian Phillips as Desiree that used a string quintet (sextet?) as the orchestra and that Sian Phillips also played Madam Armfeldt in the production with Judi Dench as Desiree. :)

I THINK I have my lines for ACT ONE....but I won't really know until we go through it tonight.

Of course tonight is another night of doing the whole show - even though we haven't worked on any specific act since we began....we just keep plowing through....

I have a question about the radio show....what does "I don't act results" even mean?  Is it some new term that "teachers" are giving acting students now so that they can cripple themselves even more when they go out looking for jobs?

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And I saw/heard a drag queen perform(?) Debbie Gibson's "Lost In Your Eyes" last night.

In other news...

Yesterday's first presentation went very well. And that was followed by a staff BBQ. Which was followed by a Q&A panel with the writers. Which was then followed by an impromptu visit to one of San Jose's "adult alternative/alternative adult" establishments. ::)

...We had all just planned to stay for about an hour and one round of drinks... But then some random(?) gentleman ended up buying all of us a round of drinks, so... We ended up staying for a little more than an hour. ::)

*All in all, it was a perfect way to end a very busy, stressful, but productive week of rehearsals and rewrites.

And now I'm still deciding if I want to head up to San Fran for a couple of hours. I think we're just going to head up for dinner since I believe most of us probably just woke up a few hours ago.

Hello?  Random gentlemen buying drinks at "adult alternative" establishments and then we jump to the next morning deciding whether to drive to san Francisco?  Were you testing to see if anybody's reading?

As for the Topic of the Day...

I go through phases listening to podcasts. -Much like the same way I go through phases of reading books - or not reading books.

The backlog of "This American Life" episodes that I have yet to listen to is, well... daunting.

What's an "alternative" establishment?

It's an establishment that has one vending machine containing potato chips, mints, pretzels, snack mix, chocolate bars and cigarettes.

And those are euphemisms for what?  ::)

Umm... There was no need for euphemisms last night. None at all.

Back from storage, eating, and picking up two packages - one from Harvey Schmidt.  I guess for you loyal dear readers i will tell you we're releasing a box set of his albums called Music in a Texas Town - he did four volumes, which he gave as Xmas presents to friends.  It's our first real box set and will have a real box - Harvey's designing all that stuff.  We're also releasing his two film scores, A Texas Romance and Bad Company.

And now...

I think I'm going to attempt to leave my corporate apartment for a bit. I'm thinking a haircut may be in order. And some lunch.

Laters...

Not going to that lunch thing - I would only stay five minutes and it's just too hot out and I have too much to do.  Juliana Hansen has joined our merry troupe for the anniversary show, so we're fully cast now.
