Listening to Carmina Burana, the Stokowski recording, which I don't think I've actually ever played. I've only heard the famous Ormandy recording, which I thought fine, but I just didn't care about the music all that much. That may be a better band, better soloists and chorus, but Stokowski makes this like I've never heard a note of it - in amazing 1957 stereo.

I was very happy to see them on the menu....why is it that when you let the other person choose the restaurant with the caveat anything but sushi...they always pick a sushi place?

The appraisal came beck this morning at $18,000 below the price I was paying. Since I can’t get financing for an amount over the appraisal price, progress has ground to a halt.

My guess is that the owner won’t lower the price, and will probably challenge the appraisal.

When we got the inspection back last week, there was a list of mostly minor problems that we requested the seller fix. Instead, the seller went thru the list and basically picked out which ones he wanted to fix. Basically a power play, since none of the items were very major.

Plus, there is some confusion as to how much money I have to present at closing. The mortgage company is listing a figure that is roughly $4,000 more than I was expecting to pay, especially since closing costs were to be paid by the seller.
