I've been enjoying the History Channel series 10 Days that Changed America, or whatever they are calling it. I especially enjoyed the Scopes Trial and the episode about McKinely.

Ain't it the truth!  Just when I think I know my History....something shows up that I didn't know - at all!!!  :-X

LOL DR GINNY don't forget to leave some Peeps out for the Bunny!

Tonight we also saw on the Food Network a guy who makes works of art out of Peeps.

We just finished watching that movie - I love the fact that it's the girl singing that song to the guy.

I'm not totally ready for our small family gathering tomorrow, but readier than I was  12 hours ago.  Off to bed, waiting for the Easter bunny to come down the chimney.  What?  Oh, never mind...

That was what really baffled me as a child.  I couldn't figure out the chimeny thing, I looked up it and there was the damper...but the Bunny...how did he get in? I never got a good explanation for that one

Well, however those guys get in the house, they all seem to arrive via Target!

Hopefully I can get someone to take a picture of me with Blue tomorrow.  She may even need to wear an Easter Bonnet.

I'm looking forward to the pic.

Especially McKinley. I went to McKinley Elementary School, but I never really knew anything about him, other than he was a president and he was assasinated (sp?)

I am  happy to report that Nilla has been his old docile self all week.  Tonight, unlike a week ago, instead of attacking me, he curled up on my lap and purred.  That's the Nilla I know

I have become interested in John Wilkes Booth and his life....there are a few books....but his motivation is still such a mystery to me....

His section in Sondheim's ASSASSINS is my favorite part of that show...

Maybe I should watch THE LONG SHIPS....any movie with Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier, AND Russ Tamblyn can't be all bad.

Colin Blakely is in it, too.  He was in THIS SPORTING LIFE....and I kept thinking where have I seen this guy?  Of course....he was Watson in Billy Wilder's THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES!

Tomovoz & Francois - Isn't there that great Rodgers & Hammerstein Easter song:

Brisk, lively, merry and bright
An egg roll
Let's color morning and night,
An egg roll
Don't stop whatever you do
The Easter Bunny loves you
And sure your honey will too
An egg roll

The McKinley doc goes into a lot of detail about the assassin. I should remember his name but I don't right now, it was fascinating

JRand - Not all about Esther, but she was referenced in:

I'm as corny as Esther at Purim
I'm as normal as Mom's matzoh brei
No more a snot
Now I love Tu Bishvat
"Cause I've found me a nice Jewish guy
