Is the site behaving? It came right up for me. I'll give the host a call and see if there were problems this morning.
Okay, so I have to ask: what are some of the strangest coincidences you have been part of? I just LOVE this stuff!
Mawnin', gang.
Brucer, m'dear, hope you're better today.
Here's another wacky synchronicity (my life runs on these favors):
Yesterday I was assembling a list of actors to schedule for an audition coming up in Seattle at the end of the month. One of these actors emailed a photo and res while I was on the road last week, and I looked at it when I stayed over night with Jane and Keith.
By the time I got settled down here in LA and tried to retrieve it from the Internet, GONE! So I asked Jane if it was anywhere to be found on her computer, in these pages, yesterday morning. Nope. Not downloaded.
And by last night, that same actor emailed again to ask if I had received his materials. Happens to me all the time. Make a wish, and the vibe gets to the person who can grant it. I've noticed this phenomenon since i was a wee bairn - and every time it happens - and it does happen a LOT - I am just knocked over by how strange and wonderful it is. Reality is not only stranger than we think, it is stranger than we CAN think.
Woody, how do you get yer dawg to sit still for toenail buffage?Sit? Who said anything about sit? Bonnie rolls on her back and holds her paws up for me!
td - SONG OF THE SOUTH is available on DVD. It's a good but not exceptional transfer. Although it is Region 1, it's not sold in the US but is fairly easy to find a copy.
DR Elmore, I read an interview with a Fox Video executive who said SUNRISE will never be offered as a stand alone release. He said they WOULD consider pairing it with CIMARRON in a boxed set in the fall, but once again, you have to buy something else to get it.
The class in improvising musicals that's now going on is taught by two men of similar heights, weights, ages, follicle challenges, and common Jewish last names: me and Larry Rosen.
Now if you and Larry, plus two guys named Guilden and Stern, would just go out to eat together, you could write a musical called "Rosen, Katz and Guilden, Stern are Fed"
So, Dan-the-Man, what was the sheet music, and what was the workshop??
You're really testing the limits of the no groaning edict here, aren't you Dear Reader RLP?
i wasn't into Owen Marshall until there was the crossover episodes with Marcus Welby (Dr. Kiley was on trial for murder or malpractice--I forget which.) Then I became a weekly fan.
They don't do many crossovers between TV series anymore. The last one I remember was between Ally McBeal and The Practice.
Is Ally McBeal on DVD?
It's also not the whole movie. The number "Sooner or Later" is missing.
Congratulations, Dear Brother Stuart, on achieving Jr. Member status. Fifty more posts and you become--you should pardon the expression--a Full Member.
RE: DR Jenny's problem
I honestly do not get why her teacher called her mom. It sounds like she is a wonderful and considerate student. Last time I checked it wasn't a crime to be upset if you get a bad grade when you worked really hard.
I would be very interested to know what her mom did.
Finished Kritzer Time. Will post on the other board when I have collected my thoughts and have more time
Congrats to DR Jay on becoming our newest Deus de Deux!
Dr Jay, thank you so much for e-mailing me the L.A Times stories on Bollywood films! If you read it you now know why I like the movies so much. They really are like Old Hollywood...very upbeat, uplifting, and colorful. Beautiful people, and beautiful music and cool dance numbers!
Are you going to go to the UCLA showings of any of those films? I have not seen the 4 that they are showing but I do have the soundtrack to one of them.
And if anyone of you DRs have even the slightest curiousity about Bollywood music just send me an e-mail and I will happily make some CDrs of the music for you!
Alas, I think Mr. Sondheim appropriated it, and had Miss Ciccione sing it in DICK TRACY. ;)
He only used the title....but the song from "Song of the South" is by far my favorite of the two, both for music and lyric.Aw, c'mon, RLP! Who can resist the song sung by Brer Fox:
Jay, am I to infer from what I've been reading that you just NOW became a HHW God. I assumed you already were.
If indeed it just now happened ;D CONGRATULATIONS!! ;D
JRand, I agree with you. I hate these people who run all over the place in a song, trying to show off their instrument, instead of serving the song. Just sing the same song. Now THAT might make for an interesting competition: everyone has to sing the same song!
I would also like a complete set of the TV series Quark, starring Richard Benjamin....My sister and I loved "Quark"...of course I was probably all of 9 or 10 years old when it was on. The other show that I'd like is When Things Were Rotten. What little I've read about it (as an adult) says that it was really bad, but again, it's like the saying: There's no such thing as an old joke if you've never heard it before.
Okay, so I have to ask: what are some of the strangest coincidences you have been part of? I just LOVE this stuff! When I'm listening to music, I'll look at something printed on a piece of paper or in a magazine (especially at work) or a bumper sticker and I'll see a word at the exact moment that I hear it in the song. That happens a LOT! Very weird!
Oh gee SWW.....what an idea. It would be like sitting in at auditions for ANNIE all over again. And over again, and over again, and over again...
MBARNUM - new episodes of MXC starting next Thursday!!!
The joy has gone out of "American Idol" for me. At his best, he was electric. Just like his final performance tonight. No one else on that stage has the capacity to entertain in that unique way. No one. And that is his gift.
Survivor: All right. I'm done with "AI" for the season, so will someone explain for me -- since I stopped watching "Survivor" the night Ethan was voted off -- how/why Rupert returned??????
DR Matt, you shared with me, privately, a breakdown of all the folks on Survivor and the order in which the would leave, save the final two, IIRC. Nowhere did it say Ruben would leave twice...or that he was going to come back...did it?
And finally, it's offical: my computer hard drive is completely dead, broken, kaput, etc., etc., etc. (a King and I reference) and ALL (every single solitary bit) of my stuff is irreparably gone. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( I don't know if my sister's boyfriend (who built my computer) will replace it or not (it's possible...my birthday is in a few weeks, but I won't expect it). So my ability to access HHW is limited to sneaks at work (and after work) and at my sister's house. At least we live next door to each other. I used to log onto HHW when I got home from work and then stay in until after midnight. Haven't been able to do that for a while...and won't for some time. :-\
