I was going to go to bed a half hour ago but I got an e-mail from a playwright whose play Rob Stevens reviewed - Rob HATED it. So this author writes me and tells me he wants me to print a rebuttal - I nicely told him we're not the NY Times and don't do things like that, and that I merely host Rob's reviews and have nothing whatsoever to do with them. He then made the mistake of e-mailing again, completely incoherent, childish, temper-tantrum stuff - my response this time was, how shall I put it, stronger and I closed by saying if I got another e-mail I would post his e-mails right here on haineshisway.com and Facebook. I mean, what an ego-maniac this dolt is. He calls his play great art - literally calls it that, and tells me I wouldn't know great art and have never seen great theatre - I haven't seen his play and won't, so what is he going on about. In a way, I hope he does e-mail back so you can all see just how stupid he is.
But then I got this e-mail just now from Joanna Erdos, who I've known since my LACC days - she comes to all the Kritzerland shows and has really enjoyed all my books, some, of course, more than others. She just finished GEE and here's what she wrote:
Dear Bruce,
I just finished the book. I couldn't put it down. This is your best book ever.
I cried three times during the story. GEE was very real and so was Peyton.
Thank you so much for writing this beautiful story.
Joanna
