I've been catching up. Still haven't seen yesterday's posts!

DR FJL Congratulatins on youir ascension!  I KNEW you would do it!  I am so sorry that I didn't get to meet you last night, i hope there will be another opportunity to do so in the near future.    I am sure that you all had a better time for the lack of a little girl crooning in her  high pitchced voice "OOOOH!!! They're sooooo CUUUUUUUTe!" while petting your Yorkies till their fur fell out!

There was not a dog , puppy , cat or turtle that we passedon the streest of New York that the Vixter did not stop and chat to the owner/seller/dog walker...

SHE thinks Jose led us on a walking and petting tour!

Part 1 of my Christmas shopping for myself has taken place:

I have just pre-ordered the next four titles in the Walt Disney Treasures series (the tin boxes).

They are the Chronological Donald, Volume 2 (1942-1946); Disney Rarities - Celebrated Shorts 1920s-1960s; Elefego Baca and The Swamp Fox-Legendary Heroes; and The Adventures of Spin and Marty from the Mickey Mouse Club.

JMK HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Danise said to let you know it is really me.  I promise to log off this time.  Were there any strange posts under my name last night?

And I must add Cillaliz is not doing her job which is correcting my mistakes as I type.

Huzzah! 'Tis lunchtime!

Carrot sticks? Veggie Burger?

I think you should eat at your desk, spaghetti, you should slurp each and every strand of pasta  making as much noise as possible...accompanied by a loaf of very crusty and crunchy,  very aromatic garlic bread which you should wave about while crunching  and chatting loudly with your mouth full

or do you think all this would be a little too subtle?

DR Elmore, Jane and I may have changed our minds--hey we're female--it's allowed--about heading up that way.  In truth, I don't know where our feet are going to carry us.

Danise, the Vixter was talking about what a great day she had at the Park... and said we must go back there and show everything to her dad... and ssaid she hoped you would be there too because she wants to have lunch at Jekyl & Hydes and thinks "it wouldn't be fair if Danise didn't come because she helped us discover it!!"

Spin and Marty Theme

Tenderfeet come to the Triple-R. Yippee ay yippee-o
They get on a horse but they don't get far. Yippee ay yippee-o
O around and around and around they trot
'til they can't set down on their tender spot
Yippee yay yippey ye ye hi yippee-o

Way out there on the Triple R.  Yippee yay, yippee yo,
The horses are the best by far.  Yippee yay, yippee yo.
So saddle up boys and saddle up well,
And listen to the story that I have to tell.
Yippee yay, yippee yi, yippee yo.

Oh Ben... I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed drving int to the office today with you.. well your voice anyway.  The reviews are really nice and I feellike I have you sitting right there next to me.  I really enjoy your speaking style.  Sometimes when you hear reviewres on TV or the radio their voice sounds forced mand artificail, yours is so pleasantly conversational, easy on the ear and each interview seems so well considered.  Even the reviews of the shows you don't care for are done so pleasantly, avoiding the mean- spiritness that is all too common in today's media.

I just got up to the conclusion of  "ALL SHOOK UP" when pulled into the parking garage so I get to ride home with you too!  Thank you for the CD and I liked the little booklet you made up to go with it.  Very nice indeed.

IJR (I Just Realized in Internet Lingo) that if you take a peek at the picture of Magnolia Bakery from last night's frenzy, you can see the back of DR Vixmom entering the store.  She's the blonde in the pink shirt (as opposed to the Blonde in the Thunderbird).

Danise, I just ran across this article... you may be back in New York sooner rather than later if this tredn speads across your state!
Quote
MIAMI - The alligator has some foreign competition at the top of the Everglades food chain, and the results of the struggle are horror-movie messy.

A 13-foot Burmese python recently burst after it apparently tried to swallow a live, six-foot alligator whole, authorities said.

The incident has heightened biologists’ fears that the nonnative snakes could threaten a host of other animal species in the Everglades.

“It means nothing in the Everglades is safe from pythons, a top-down predator,” said Frank Mazzotti, a University of Florida wildlife professor.

Over the years, many pythons have been abandoned in the Everglades by pet owners.

The gory evidence of the latest gator-python encounter — the fourth documented in the past three years — was discovered and photographed last week by a helicopter pilot and wildlife researcher.

The snake was found with the gator’s hindquarters protruding from its midsection. Mazzotti said the alligator may have clawed at the python’s stomach as the snake tried to digest it.

In previous incidents, the alligator won or the battle was an apparent draw.

“There had been some hope that alligators can control Burmese pythons,” Mazzotti said. “This indicates to me it’s going to be an even draw. Sometimes alligators are going to win and sometimes the python will win.”

It is unknown how many pythons are competing with the thousands of alligators in the Everglades, but at least 150 have been captured in the past two years, said Joe Wasilewski, a wildlife biologist and crocodile tracker.

Pythons could threaten many smaller species that conservationists are trying to protect, including other reptiles, otters, squirrels, woodstorks and sparrows, Mazzotti said.

Wasilewski said a 10- or 20-foot python also could pose a risk to an unwary human, especially a child. He added, however, “I don’t think this is an imminent threat. This is not a ‘Be afraid, be very afraid’ situation.”

I noticed DR CEP didn't get proper credit for his quote either!

It truly has rained here all day long; sometimes just dripping rain but also right now where it is pouring. I'm sure folks with gardens are very happy, and I'm happy for them.

It's been a good day just to kick back and watch TV.

Just popping in to reassure all that I am on the site and will be posting my own pictures, such as they are, either this evening or tomorrow morning.

But now I must run home from work a little early--run? HA!  Not after what Jose put my poor old legs through yesterday!

I caught up on my recorded programs from last night. VERONICA MARS continues to be entertaining, and the ongoing mystery gets more and more complicated.

One note (not really a spoiler) - I absolutely LOATHED the spoiled new student from California, Jackie. By the end of the hour, she had mellowed a tiny bit, but I still find someone with that much attitude impossible to deal with and a total turn off.
