Well, you've read the notes, the notes, like the blood, boiled, and now it is time for you to post until the boiled cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SPANG!
-
Hello.
-
As usual these nights I can smell the smoke. I seem to notice it more when I can't sleep than during the day.

As usual these nights I can smell the smoke. I seem to notice it more when I can't sleep than during the day.
I certainly have seen the effects of the smoke, but I don't really think that I've ever smelled it. :-\
-
Off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Postmates charge dropped off a few minutes ago so I have my dough back. Grubhub doesn't charge you at all until the order is on its way.
-
Very good.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Now that I have no doctor's appointment this morning, I have no plans. There are several apartment projects I could do if I get my energy and enthusiasm revved up enough to do them.
-
DR TCB, I have no idea why I detest "Fifty Per Cent" so much. I thought it was a poor lyric the moment I first heard Dorothy Loudon sing it on the Tony Awards, but I've never been a huge fan of the Bergmans' work. I thought Kerry sang it well, but . . .
-
I'm happy you got your refund, BK!
-
That said, I love "On My Way To You," and Adrienne sang the hell out of it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Kitty cleanup is over. I heard a bit of the Bob Woodward interview on CBS This Morning, but at least half of it was lost to the noisy playing of Stella and Annabelle while I was cleaning the litter.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Woke up to a nice chilly morning in the 40s. Today is only getting into the high 60s. Back to the mid-70s tomorrow.
-
I think I was in a movie called SPANG - but I can't find it anywhere online......
-
Hot water vibes for MR BK.
-
I think today will be another day without using the Cooling Device.
-
Glad to hear about the refund for MR BK.
The people are being cheated......and nobody does anything about it.....what a world, what a world.
-
Dear BK, finally caught up with your show last night. I loved it! I have watched other shows to do similar things, but yours is top notch. I especially liked the opening number and the title song from Smile, both were visually interesting and I’ve never seen anything quite like that before. I guess pre-recording the songs allows you to do this and it makes it special. I would love to see Pam Myers an Robert Yacko recreate a moment from Sunday in the Park... on future Kritzerland show. These shows have given me an opportunity to see them since I have never had the opportunity to see one in person.

Never heard of Postmates prior to this. I will never use them. Thanks for the heads up on them. If you haven’t done it you should relate your story on Facebook and tag them.
-
Good morning!
-
I had a lie-down, and Stella joined me after she and Thatch finished wrestling and romping through the apartment. Annabelle retired to her grotto I set up on my bed as soon as I made it. I suspect she will doze there until 3:15 when I feed them.
-
Entering hour three of meetings this morning. Joy, oh joy.
-
Did anyone watch Dancing with the Stars? I only knew Anne Heche, and she was good. I found it funny that I was saying many of the same things as the judges about the contestants. And I liked Derek Hough (sp?) as a judge.
-
SPANG me. They oughta take a rope and hang me.
-
T.O.D.
Whatever my wife puts on the table.
:D

Oh no. Several familiar place names in that article. Depressing.
Do either of you recall if I was ever in Good Stuff Diner with you? It looks so familiar.
What was the one we met former DR Matthew in? I'm thinking Eighth Avenue but I could be wrong.

Wasn't it the Westway Diner on 9th Avenue?

I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
Grant hasn't been here yet - he did say morning so he has another ninety minutes but I'm hoping it's soon in case it's something he can't fix so he can get someone out here today.

I agree! I was hoping that Pamela and Robert would have an on-line reunion. And on one of the previous Kritzerland shows, I was hoping for a reunion of the two Karens: Mason and Ziémba. They were in the original And the World Goes 'Round (http://castalbums.org/recordings/And-the-World-Goes-Round-The-Songs-of-Kander-Ebb-1991-Original-Off-Broadway-Cast/3301) together.

Hard to do reunions with our show. Since all the numbers are pre-filmed. Although we did pull off a major miracle with The Grass Is Always Greener, I thought.

That's too bad. Of course, I've never been to any of these places, but it's sad that it's happening all over. :(

Grant came and it was indeed the pilot, so he restarted it and it probably will take a few hours to heat up - I tried the hot water and at least I got some warm coming out - not hot yet but warm.
-
So many wonderful restaurants have had to close.

The Broadway of the Upper West Side is beginning to look like it did when I moved in in 1980: closed stores and restaurants but no trash all over the streets and sidewalks yet, thank God

DR TCB we are due for our annual fire inspection. I am looking forward to the alarms going off, not.
-
At least they won't be doing inside inspections due to covid. Each unit was tested for three (?) alarms. Every test set off the alarms in every unit. Considering there are seventeen units in our building, testing day was extremely annoying.
-
I think it's just the push of a button.
-
As usual these nights I can smell the smoke. I seem to notice it more when I can't sleep than during the day.
I'm sorry. :(

Your bagels are different than ours. I liked them but not as much. I expect you prefer them. Bryan thinks they are delicious. I don't think you have my favorite egg bagels. Do you have rye bagels? I don't remember.
There are different bagel shops that have different varieties. But I prefer poppy seeds. My nieces love sesame seed bagels. I don't think that I have ever tried rye bagels.

My cousin sent me a birthday card with a $50 bill inside. So I ordered pizza and mozzarella salad for dinner.
-
Health vibes for DR Jeanne and DR Jane!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My brother was lighting a pilot light on a furnace in one his renter houses and burned his eyebrows off.
-
I just reconnected with an actor on Facebook that I hadn't seen in 25 years.....that was nice.

It is best to have a long match for those ;)
-
I recall one house, maybe Massachusetts, that we had to keep relighting the furnace.
-
I remember having to relight the pilot to the stove in my parent's house.
-
There was also the gas fireplace in my childhood home. While my parents weren't home my sister insisted I go turn on the gas, first time and not supervised. I burned the front of my hair.

The best part of Facebook.
-
Chicken wrap eaten and listening to music.
-
Annabelle just let me know it's time to close up shop and give her her evening treat. So, before Stella and Thatch begin clamoring for shrimpies and salmon, I'm closing shop.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Thanks for the vibes, DR Jennifer.
-
Jane, re your question last night, yes, thanks, I'm improving and getting stronger. Tomorrow is my post-op.
-
Bruce, I'm glad you got your money back.
-
I've seen many companies "say" they'll refund you, but they never do, and people forget about it or just don't have time to go after small amounts. It's not right.
-
Last week I contacted a personal shopper to help with groceries. He didn't get back to me until today, but seemed quite willing, so I gave it a try. I emailed him a list of things I needed from Trader Joe's and we found a time that was convenient to us both. He shopped, cellphone in hand, alerting me to shortages or changes and asking if I wanted to substitute. Then he delivered it to my door. Very convenient. For his time and trouble he gets 20% + an optional tip. It worked out well today. Some of the items are heavy and I would have a difficult time with them. I hope to use him again.
-
Some companies try to be 100% automated. I think that was Amazon's original intent. It doesn't work, IMO. Some things work fine, but not everything does. You need to have an avenue for human intervention.
-
When I was in Padua, Italy, I stayed at a little pensione. No hot water in the shower. I took very quick showers, standing apart from the stream of water. I survived. But when it came to washing my hair I opted to go to a local hair salon, where they did indeed have hot water.
Hot water vibes to Bruce!
-
TTFN.
-
Hot water is once again hot - took about three hours. Still listening to music and am not feeling good about much right now, but this too shall pass and pass quickly, I hope.
-
So, I posted our show to the Finishing the Chat Facebook group - Sondheim fanatics - anything Sondheim they post it and people RAVE about it all no matter how lame. Other than a couple of thumbs up likes, not ONE person has commented on Pamela Myers or the Yiddish Sondheim or Losing My Mind. This tells me that there is some kind of disconnect going on and I cannot figure out what it is.
-
Tuesday evening greetings! I don't know where today went, except for the hour or so I spent on FaceTime with my friend Rebecca. Her husband is about to be released from post-op rehab after hip replacement surgery. She has her work cut out for her...
-
While nowhere near as bad as what the west coast is experiencing, the Ohio Valley now has hazy skies that are being attributed to the fires out west.

Jane, re your question last night, yes, thanks, I'm improving and getting stronger. Tomorrow is my post-op.
I hope it goes well.

Super vibes he continues to work out as this sounds like an excellent situation for you. Did he deliver the goods inside your place so you didn't have to lift or bend?

Smart move to go to a hair salon. Did they also have the wonderful European shampoo sinks few places have here?

Yes DR JANE.....however it is brutal when you reconnect with someone who was a working actor mostly because he was young and thin and really cute.....twenty five years later.
I never got an acting job because I had any of those qualities.....even if I at one time possessed any of them.
-
MR BK jealousy is a terrible thing - and I have found that the people who are most nonplussed by folks who actually DO things....are people who NEVER do things themselves. They can't bring themselves to realize that it takes talent and effort to accomplish something.....
And I do not think of posting a comment anywhere as any type of accomplishment - although some believe it is a full time job.
Also - if they didn't discover it - it doesn't exist.
-
DR GINNY yes the hazy skies are making my airplane watching difficult these days.
-
Continued vibes for DR JEANNE and DR JANE.

It is interesting to know. A friend in Maine reported smoke. Bryan said they don't have any.

Thanks. No, we did contactless. He knocked, left them in front of the door, then distanced himself. I can take it from there, unless it's a box of bottled water. He probably would have brought them in if I'd asked him to.

Good night.
-
Really trying to figure out this malaise that I'm feeling - not mayonnaise, but malaise. Maybe a hot shower will help after the walk IF I do the walk.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from a 2.2 mile brisk walk. It was a little helpful and a shower very soon will be more helpful, I think.
-
It rained for a little bit tonight.
-
Hopefully, that'll continue.
-
Nope...an article in The Olympian yesterday said, "A storm system forecasters had projected to bring showers had waned in strength and stalled off the coast, and projections for a clearing of the haze have now stretched to late in the week." :-\
-
I have showered and the water WAS hot and it was good to shower after a 2.2 mile brisk walk.
-
Now playing: Grieg's piano concerto. A little box of all the orchestral music with Neemi Jarvi conducting - not my favorite conductor, but a good way to get to know a lot of the Grieg stuff I don't know.
-

Great then as long as you can pick it up.

I am very excited. Our air quality has dropped just below 200 which puts us down two levels and barely into "unhealthy". Fingers crossed it continues to improve, or at the least doesn't get worse again.
-
I am not very excited about page four.
-
I'd be much more excited by page five.
-
Listening to Grieg - I must admit that other than the piano concerto, which I didn't really know much at all save for the opening minute, I know so little of this music - Peer Gynt I know very well and have several recordings of - but the rest not so much. And I'm really enjoying what I'm hearing.
-

Bryan thought they were too far away to have smoke from the West Coast fires. Then Kate saw on the news, after I asked, that the haze they could see was from smoke.

Well, on a happy note (C#), today I received the first of my baker's dozen laserdiscs that I had ordered from eBay!
-
I got Liza in Concert.
-
On Amazon, it's called Liza in New Orleans (https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B088JTS5RH/).
-
It's not exactly the same program, though.
-
The Amazon version is more complete...it's about a half hour longer than the laserdisc version. :P
-
>:(
-
That's not fair.
-
Oh, well...at least, the laserdisc that I got was still sealed!
-
It may be 39 years old, but it's essentially brand new!
-
Enjoy your new laserdisc.
-

I never got an acting job because I had any of those qualities.....even if I at one time possessed any of them.
Perhaps that is true, Jack, but you possess something far more important than any of those things - talent!
-
Enjoy your new laserdisc.
Thanks, Jane! I will!

And the word of the day is: SPANG!
