I was printing out info to take to my book group tomorrow.  I have ended up the organizer for this group more times then I remember now.  At our pot luck re-organize meeting tomorrow it should pass on to someone else.  The problem is 4 members have recently dropped out, one had a stroke, 2 other's medical problems & the remaining people have been in lead person more than once.  I have a suspicion I will be continuing this.  I won't ask the few people who willingly volunteer to host extra times.  Now that Keith is home all the time he would rather I not not host too often & with my shoulder I admit I prefer not to.

Good Evening!

Sol... I ordered the "HOT Chicken" at Holeman & Finch Public House earlier tonight. I mainly ordered it since I was just $5. And I also wanted some fried chicken. Well...

The first bite I took was mainly the crispy crust and skin and sauce... And that's when I discovered that the "HOT" meant HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -There were habañero peppers in the hot sauce coating. Thankfully, our waitress brought me a glass of whole milk to calm the fire in my mouth.

Otherwise, it was a very good meal:
Duck Fat Caramel served with peaches, pears, apples, zucchini and radishes
HOT Chicken served with white sandwich bread and pickles
Georgia Scrapple served with a quail egg, braised kale and maple syrup
Housemade Macaroons: bourbon, cherry & mocha
Coke Float made with Mexican Coke and smoked vanilla ice cream

Before dinner, I checked out Holeman & Finch's new-ish Bottle Shop. What a great store! A great selection of wine & spirits, mixers and bitters, bar accessories and stemware. And a great staff too. Oh, and the music is provided by a Hi-Fi system and a great collection of records, LPs!

Stumbled upon a new chocolate shop. -The owner gave me a bag of their cardamom sugar cubes...

Had lunch at West Egg Cafe: their Fried Green Tomato BLT with pimento cheese...

DR Matthew - I noticed that the acoustic in the Lucie Stern is kind of strange. It's resonant, but there are sections where it gets muffled and others where it seems like an echo chamber. So...

Did the jump rope instructor come back for a brush-up rehearsal? ;)
