Well, time to head back to the post office (again), and get some lunch, and I think may even get my hair cut too.

Dear reader Hisaka will be back - she wrote to tell me she's very busy dealing with some stuff that needs to be dealt with.  She does read the notes every day, but hasn't had time to come to the board.

I hope you'll pass along to her how much she's missed.

I enjoy a nice peanut butter sandwich with a bowl of chicken soup. It's good for dipping. My throat swells up and I can't breathe afterward, but BOY! does it taste good...

I also enjoy a nice grilled cheese sandwich with my chili. Again - good for dipping if the chili is a little soupy.

I know we've talked about this before many moons ago, but...does anyone else here put spaghetti noodles in their chili? That's how they served it when I was in school and that's how I've made it ever since.

Grrrrrr...

Well, I've just had to make two not-so-nice phone calls in order to hopefully rectify some repeated "delays".  "Well, all the other mail that people said they sent me last week has already come in...  Except yours."

Again...  If you haven't sent the check, just tell me you haven't sent the check.  I know your company is known for not making timely payments as it is.  If you're still "processing the invoice", then that's all I need to know right now.  Just please stop repeatedly telling me that you sent the check out a week ago each time I call you!?!?!?!

Geez, Jose...just kick 'em in the shins!

So did you pronounce her name:  Sherry or Sher-REE?

It was Sher-REE, wasn't it?

And there was no black family story last night, not sure why.  But I actually didn't miss it.  Not enjoying that too much.

I think that's probably because they haven't made that family terribly interesting yet.

I will tell you that I think Alfre Woodard is a phenomenal actress and her role in DH hasn't yet tapped the core of her potential brilliance.  Perhaps, when our major characters finally get involved in her story, and she opens up, we'll see something really involving from her.

Has BK defined his "boy band" for TOD yet?  I think any group comprised of underaged lads a "boy band."

Any group comprised of "over-18" men, to be a male group.

So if it's either, I'm going to have to say:

The Eagles
America
Blood Sweat & Tears
Chicago
Montrose
The Moody Blues
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (and Young)
Uriah Heep
Grand Funk Railroad
Rolling Stones
Grateful Dead
Yes
Santana

I also think Alfre can be brilliant.  But so far I do not like her on DH (or the actor who plays her son).  Are the other characters going to get involved in her story? Will she actually interact with them?

Well, hopefully...otherwise, what would have been the point?
(Remember this question if they don't get involved with the rest of the cast!)

Soup sounds like a wonderful idea for lunch.

I only have saltines for crackers...no crescent rolls.

Of course, I have a loaf of exra-sour sourdough.  I could make some scrumptious sourdough toast to accompany my soup.

DR Vixmom: I thought JERSEY BOYS was alright - it's basically a VH1 Behind the Music special live onstage with a Frankie Valli impersonator. A very, very talented Frankie Valli impersonator, mind you. If I had grown up on that music, I think I would have enjoyed it a great deal more than I did. My mother LOVED it, as did 98% of the audience. Many of them danced, clapped and sang their way through the show - a practice for which I am not a big fan - but they were clearly having a great time. Is it my favorite show? Absolutely not. Is it a good time? You betcha.

"West Wing" certainly seems like a Thursday night show to me, too, but it has been on Wednesdays since 1999.

Well, Alfre's son was made quite interesting when he did his scene in that tight t-shirt! Woohoo!

The day is rushing apace and I've done nothing but get up and log on -- TWICE.

I'm off to do some of the things DR MattH would do, and none of them include CLEANING!

Well, there's character development and there's chest development.

;)

P.S.  I quite literally let this get by me without considering that in many of MBarnum's favorite films, chest development IS character development!  And that's fine by me!

:D
