BK, I TOTALLY agree with you about the problem of amplification in theater today.  A local theater company has their own fairly small theater (only about 180 seats) and anytime they do musicals, the sound is just too loud for the space...a few times, the sound was even a bit distorted because of the volume.

:P is what I say.

Ditto. Too damn loud. I think the worst for me was Starlight Express. But that was bad because I could hear the music at any decibel level.

I can't remember what touring company it was that just about knocked me out of my chair.  It was either RAGTIME or ANYTHING GOES.  On Broadway, JEKYLL AND HYDE practically kncked the fillings out of my teeth.
Ragtime wasn't too loud for me. I saw it in the very last row and could understand every word just fine.

"Jesus Christ, the Apple Tree"

Sounds a monologue for someone who doesn't like Barbara Harris or Bock and Harnick.

Just finished with "Thor." Too bad it wasn't in the same league as "Capt. America."

Bryan said he could have passed the exam yesterday without studying (his goal is to score high so he can get the residency he wants) however he could not have lasted through the nine hours without building up his endurance.

Tonight's second feature and the main attraction is "The Woman on the Beach" from Jean Renoir. Moody film noir. Am enjoying it thoroughly, but whenever I see Joan Bennett outside of "Dark Shadows" I always wonder why she's wearing Hedy Lamar's old hair. Thanks, Cole Porter, for screwing up my head in so many wonderful ways.

Good Evening!

...We're on the second orchestra break of the evening... And we still have a full hour to go... And only four more songs to run. :)

And now I'm in rehearsal, and we are stumbling-through (on purpose) Act One.

How many performances are there for THE BOYS?

Just five: Friday, two on Saturday, two on Sunday.

...and then I fly to Los Angeles on Monday morning, and start rehearsals with bk at LACC Monday evening. (Whew!)

How long will you be in L.A.?

Five Weeks!

DR Jose, I am all informed about the Boys 1938 materials.

DR Elmore - So does this mean we're meeting for a drink tomorrow night? ;)
