Hollywood Union Authorized to Strike

LOS ANGELES - Members of Hollywood's film and television writers union have overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike anytime after their contract expires at the end of the month.

More than 5,000 members of the Writers Guild of America cast ballots, with 90 percent voting in favor of authorizing the strike, the union said Friday evening. Members voted Thursday.

If memory serves, the last such strike in 1988 brought us some newTV fare from down-under (the revised Mission Impossible, for one).

DR TOMovOZ - this is what Jules Nurrish the writer of NO ORDINARY JOE says:

I did not use actual pieces from the published Diaries, instead opting to write the narrative myself, in the often outrageous style of Orton. It was challenging to try and successfully make the main character believable, while creating a voiceover narrative that belonged to a semi-fictional Orton.

So perhaps he wrote that line himself.

I rarely eat fast food anymore but I do remember Arby's back when they used real roast beast. There was a big ole honkin' piece of meat on a spit in the back of the restaurant and they would carve that off for sandwiches. That's a long ago memory. Chipolte is good for (too) large Mexican delights. There are no Dairy Queens in Manhattan (that I know of) but I used to like going there as a child.

Good morning! Adam had to be at his meeting at 7:00 this morning. His alarm kept going off and since I was dreaming that I had taken Callie to a rescue shelter and someone had adopted her rather than taking her to the vet, I decided not to go back to sleep
