On the war movies front, I forgot to add Richard Attenborough's OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR!, which even DR MBarnum might find enjoyable, being an anti-war musical.
Also, FROM HERE TO ETERNITY - how could I forget this one? ? ?

I've had my walk, stopped at the market, and visited at Barnes & Noble.  I need to move some furniture about; when the property check arrives I want to buy 2 new filing cabinets and a chest of drawers, along with enough storage boxes to send a lot of things to Miami University Library.

Then back to Frank Loesser.

I still don't really get why the lines would be so long. They are always encouraging people to vote. Yet it seems like they are not helping their cause.

I'm not a huge fan of war movies either and I'm assuming when we're talking war we're talking like WWI or II, modern warfare...not necessarily historical films about wars...like the Civil War or Revolutionary or some ancient European war.  Nor films that depict civilians on the homefront or soldiers on leave.  I assume we're talking about soldiers in engaged in battles and modern warfare.

Of that ilk, however, I do have some that I'll watch over and over again:
