Yesterday I cleared a fairly large field in a wooded area adjacent to my driveway. There's a lot more to be done, but it's a beautiful start.
The space was wildly overgrown, but is invaluable for parking a few cars and for direct access to a friend and neighbor whose house is on another street. We both like having cookouts and whatnot, and enjoy some visiting back and forth. It takes one minute to walk from our door to his (and, amazingly, vice versa), but five minutes to get in the car, drive around the bend and turn up his street, get parked, etc. I'm always reminded of the apartment situation posed in one of Jack Finney's short stories about time/space travel.
Anyhoo, I'll do another few John Hours on that today. And when that's done, I move on to some other part of the property that needs attention. There are plenty of them.
