Rebecca Luker has revealed she has ALS.  I've worked with her from the beginning of my producing life, album after album, and then finally her solo album.

I got a lot of work accomplished, then around 40 minutes ago, Thatch decided to climb onto my worktable to sleep and let Daddy give him some love.  Now the babies are eating and I must bring up 40 lbs of kitty litter from the lobby.

Rebecca's news is devastating.  She had told me after Christmas that she was having health issues, and I promised to say nothing to anyone.  I guess the diagnosis was still in the works.  My heart breaks for her and Danny.

Back to The Two Jakes. I think Jack Nicholson's Jake gets beat up more in this movie than Mike Hammer.

The library obliged with a bit of trash for tonight's viewing: The Oscar. I have never seen this. But with Elke Sommer, Tony Bennett, Stephen Boyd, Eleanor Parker and Jill St. John all in the same picture, it's got to be worth a few laughs.

Same here!  So far, it's going well.  We have an almost full house!

So tonight is the Oscars? I can honestly say I’m not all that interested in watching this time. I know I will, of course, but I won’t be here to partay until late in the show because we’ll be out celebrating Kristi’s birthday.

I'm recording them, just in case I don't get home in time.

Laundry is finished.  While I was in the laundry room, I had a major panic attack.  I am quite worried for Thatch.  Before I can address his gingivitis and dental work, which I cannot afford at the moment, I must deal with his echocardiogram, which is way out of my current budget.  So I'm terrified I'm killing him.  The money I'm making from these two orchestrations will pay the property taxes for the first half of 2020.

Will that damned property ever sell and free me from this financial bondage?

DR elmore what doess the doctor say about Thatch's  heart murmur?  Has is stayed the same or have there been changes?  I am wondering if having the expensive echocardiogram is necessary, desirable yes, but maybe not absolutely necessary.  If I recall correctly Thatch hasn't shown symptoms of a heart problem aside from the murmur.

I posted this after the first echocardiogram on Jan. 25, 2018:
Thatch and I have returned from the vet and we've learned the results of his his echocardiogram: a problem with the muscle controlling the left ventricle of his heart, which is already too thick and will continue to affect his blood flow. He will be on a daily medication for the remainder of his life to slow the heart rate to slow down the muscle's thickening, eventually closing down the ventricle.

I have no idea what this means for his mortality or its longevity, but a part of me died today. I will love him, care for him, and pray to God that he has a long and healthy life.

His disease is ​Hypertrophic ​Obstructive ​Cardiomyopathy, and he needs an echocardiogram yearly to check its progress.
