John Barrowman seems to be guilty of overexposure during a recent interview.

This is old news; the stories of his willingness to drop his pants in public are many.

Have you ever heard anyone comment along the lines of:

"Oh, that old thing?  AGAIN?"

Our pleasure DR JMK!

I thought "Sharks of Australian Waters" would have been less welcome.

(Of course DR TCB probably does not know that "Austria" has sharks)

Richard and I attended Mrs. Brown's memorial service this morning.  Aside from those to whom I'm related by blood or by marriage, she was the woman who had the most influence on my life.  It will take a while to recover from this one.

On a brighter note, I also had a doctor's appointment this afternoon and was told to stop taking the blood thinners - hoo and ray.  Bring on the broccoli!

Ginny, I am so sorry to read about the death of your dear friend and mentor.  I am sure that you will miss her.

Okay, it's time for bed. I am very tired.  I look forward to accounts of the benefit tonight.

And it opened with my favorite Bacharach song "Almost Something There to remind Me."  And ended with lovely bubbles, which were like big raindrops falling on our heads.  "Turkey Lurkey time" was thrilling as expected, but so many thrills.

...And I've thought a lot about Mark Wayne Gregory today, and over the past few days too.

There's a strange consolation in realizing that he passed away 12 year ago.  I started thinking back to how much time we spent together, and how our paths crossed in the first place, and, unfortunately, how our "lives got in the way" once I was in school and he had moved down to North Carolina.  But I still think about him, and I'm forever grateful to him for showing me the true meaning of Bravery.  -As well as sharing his massive collection of LPs: cast albums, vocalists, classic disco, even opera.  I realized that we had only really known each other "actively" for about three years, but those three years were filled with so many life experiences for both of us.

I was one of his "chauffeurs" when he was dealing with the government lawsuit.  I was there when his partner, Larry, died.  I was there when we sent off Larry's Quilt Panel to the Names Project, and when, after searching unsuccessfully for a couple of anxious minutes, we spotted Larry's panel being unfurled on the National Mall.  He was there the one time I "ran away" from home.  He was there when we saw Les Miserables for the first time, and the third(!) time. -I would have never noticed what Valjean was packing in his chest during the Act One finale of Les Miserables.  Something so small, but at the same time so big, so meaningful.  And I know he was there when I just happened to come across his obituary years later, which then allowed me to properly say, "Thank You and Goodbye", to him during his Memorial Service - which happened to coincide with the final(?) display of the Quilt on the National Mall.  That turned out to be a Beautiful weekend in many respects.  A couple of Beautiful days for a Beautiful Person.  And thousands upon thousands of other Beautiful People.

I guess I didn't find the connection to Mark Wayne Gregory.  Perhaps someone could explain to me the error of my ways.

Still, I certainly didn't mind seeing John Pagano's photo.  Woof!

Had a marvelous evening of entertainment. I began with last night's BROTHERS & SISTERS. A pretty good episode. Nice to see the family getting along and not down each other's throats. Nice to see Scottie just one of the brothers.

Next, I watched in HD the musical HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN. This is one of my all-time favorite movie musical scores, and in HD, the picture has never looked richer or more glorious. This was Farley Granger at the height of his beauty even if the character he's playing is one of the most selfish and thoughtless in movie history.

Then I watched tonight's episode of CHUCK. It was one of the best of the season, an Adam Baldwin-centered tale and he certainly rose to the occasion in tonight's spotlight. Great to see Bruce Boxleitner and Morgan Fairchild as Captain Awesome's parents. Perfect casting.

And HEROES was OK, though some of these people have switched sides back and forth so many times you need a scorecard to keep up. Still, I'll be eager to see how they bring Arthur down.

And I ended my evening watching a couple more OUR GANG shorts. Always amusing; I'm still in the Jackie Cooper era.

Teri Garr is all over the place in VIVA LAS VEGAS, which does not have a Bacharach score.

I stopped at Big Lots and they had a lot of good movies for only $3 each. I picked up ON THE TOWN, NATIONAL VELVET (Christmas gift), GIG ( Christmas gift), DAMES, THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS (Christmas gift), and DIE ANOTHER DAY (Christmas gift).

DR FJL is right; there were thrills aplenty at tonight's benefit.  I'm too tired to go into any detail right now, but bk did a splendid job.  Everything flowed wonderfully, and I think I needed a seatbelt during Turkey Lurkey Time.   :D

I'm looking forward to seeing SPAMALOT on Wednesday night.  The tour is here for a week.  I saw it during its first year on Broadway and laughed myself silly. Hoping it's as funny the second time around.

BK has asked that those of us who are gathering at John's Pizza on Tuesday gather a little earlier, at 7:30 rather than 8.  (BK has a very early flight on Wednesday morning.)

Somehow the alarm on the clock radio in my kitchen was turned on and went off before 6:00 AM, so I got up, got ready and went to work.  It was a long day and I'm tired.  Think I'll go to sleep and try to get up that early again.  I have a lot to do tomorrow and an early start would be a big boost.

Yes. The next one is "Love Business" where Jackie and Chubby vie for Miss Crabtree's affections.

Good Evening!

I'm back, I'm back... From the benefit that is.

And what a truly swell event it was.  Kudos to everyone involved, but especially our very own bk, his choreographer, Adam Cates, and the amazing Alex Rybeck!

And it was nice to see a lot of familiar faces on stage as well as in the audience too!  I actually ended up sitting next to Anthony Barille!* -Who informed that they are doing a 15th Anniversary Concert of Tommy in two weeks.  Must find tickets NOW!

*And I had just watched "Kiss Me Guido" the other night too!
