I'll go first:

10 Your Amazon basket is constantly being filled with DRs recommendations

9 You greet the morning with a NYC oatmeal bowl

8 You go to sleep after wishing a Dakota Maiden "Sweet Dreams"

7 You go to Dictionary.com daily

6 You hear Ray Bolger sing "Once in love with Amy", and have visions of a stegosaurus entangled in film

5 You know Sherlock barks and Callie purrs

4 You know hear tell Rewind is fact not fiction!

3 You know HHW DRs are not named Welby, Quinn, Kildare, Zhivago , or Strangelove

2 You call "Our Town" "Kritzerland"

1 You know  "what is it, fish?" is a rhetorical question

thank you, Der B.

Did you know he was a charlatan! He released his original compositions as the works of other "long interred" composers.

der Brucer

At least he didn't wear a ball-cap to disguise his true identity!

No, I know very little about him, but love his music.

BTW, DER B, do you remember Sulu from Dr Demento? She wrote and sang some strange little songs, but they were clever just the same.

Back from a little research drive, but didn't find exactly what I wanted yet.  I'll do some further driving around and just go back to this little section of the book.

Nope. My son used to listen to the show when we lived in Claremont in the early seventies. I came late to the party via CDs.

When I was in college, the guilty pleasure was the 10" vinyl  "Songs Of Tom Lehrer".

DR MattH, when are the audition dates for THE MUSIC MAN? Will there be an orchestra for the performances?

Thanks for asking. The auditions won't be until August - the show goes up in the fall. This is the same director that I did Max in THE SOUND OF MUSIC and Bob Cratchit in SCROOGE for, and we had at least 10 pieces in the orchestra for each, as I recall.

I began the afternoon with last night's MEDIUM, an excellent episode, once again changing things up just a bit to keep the viewer off balance. A really fascinating story with the teen Allison (whom we've seen before on at least one previous episode and maybe more.) I was hoping we might get to see the college aged Joe Dubois, but they didn't allow it, at least not in this episode.

The movie I watched this afternoon was recorded last night off Showtime-HD - it was Don Roos' HAPPY ENDINGS. At first, I thought there were  too many stories and characters with vignettes not developed enough from one to another. However, I have to give him credit for looping everything together by the end in most ingenious ways. I ended up liking the film quite a bit. I didn't find it as cynical or as heartless as his first film  THE OPPOSITE OF SEX, and thus I ended up liking it more.

Since tonight's schedule is dotted with reruns, I'll have only the IDOL results show, SCRUBS, and 30 ROCK (Nathan Lane is guest starring as Alec Baldwin's brother; I guess his real brothers were otherwise occupied). By 10 p.m., I'll be watching the last Mr. Moto film in the package.

I, too, enjoyed "Medium," and I particularly enjoyed the jumping back and forth in time...present day Allison dreaming, and then teenaged Allison dreaming, with each of their dreams shaping their alternate realities.

Very clever use of the space/time conundrum....can Allison, facing a horrible truth about someone she knew in her youth, change the past in order to alter the future?

Several memories surface in dreams, and the teenaged Allison dreams of a future in which her adult Allison provides a validation of her talents that her mother (who apparently uses drugs to suppress any talents she, herself, may have) cannot/will not.

Peri Gilpin was excellent as Allison's mother.

I'm glad to see that Dear exotic, studly, coy, and flirtatious Jose is safe in Atlanta.  And DR Edi can keep him safe and sound, and on the straight and narrow.  (  :)  )

Oh I just couldn't resist.  And now I simply have to post.....

I've done three-and-a-half pages - might do another half in a little while.  As I've said before, normally I will not finish chapters before ending a writing session, because I find it very difficult to start anew on a new chapter the next day - whereas, if I pick up where I left off, in the middle of a chapter or the end of a chapter, I know exactly where I am and how to proceed, which will then lead me directly into the new chapter.

But, I'd finished the last chapter because I didn't want to give Margaret an incomplete chapter.  So, I spent a lot of today starting and re-starting and shifting things around and smoothing things out to get an opening to the chapter that I was happy with.  I think I finally got it right and now, thankfully, I'm close to four pages into it.

Ben, where do you record your segments?

It's not what I usually have, oatmeal with cranberries and walnuts, but it will do. I can't find a picture of oatmeal with raisins. I sometimes put cranberries in with the raisins or I will chop an apple and put that in as well. I've never put almonds in my oatmeal. I also have a cup of black coffee with my oatmeal. I've cut down to about 2 cups of coffee a day. I used to drink much, much more but I am now only a moderate drinker of said beverage.

I have heard that the best way to eliminate coffee from your diet, is to substitute one 8 oz. glass of whiskey for every cup of coffee you normally consume.
