It sure is!  What a great idea :D

He could narrate a Documentary on American Clowns, with Anthony as a star!

More likely to grow for you than for me in the desert. You will be posting magnificent photos soon!

How much different is your Arizona desert sand from my Delaware sea-shore sand? (And I have to cope with giant Pines and White Oaks shielding the sun for part of the day); but I can grow tomatoes, so their there might be hope! And we do have Butterflies.

Didn't you have  pair of teen-agers giggling behind your back a lot?

No, Mom's aren't supposed to "get" it and boys pretend not too around their mother.  At least mine did. ;D

Thank you MBarnum.  You didn’t mention the lost underwear story which also continues to be a running HHW gag.

JRand-Thank you.  I smiled 

Miss Karen-Thanks.  We are about to give her a quick call & make sure she finally made it into her own room, then we will completely relax.

DRLaura-thanks, and I enjoyed the photo of your darling neighbors.

The butterflies like sunshine and heat. The trouble here is that stuff that isn't native (or from desert areas of Australia) dies out pretty early. So the butterfly mat would pretty much die out in June from the heat.

Desert soil is difficult to garden in, so I would put lots of organic stuff.

FJL-Seventeen years with Skip is a great accomplishment, any good long term relationship is and it doesn’t happen.

My parents loved each other but their relationship was often not the best.  I cherished the happy times and was determined, at a very young age, to have a good marriage.

I think that is my greatest accomplishment.  I hope I can take some credit that my children are nice people who have attempted to make a difference for the better in this world.

Desert soil is difficult to garden in, so I would put lots of organic stuff.

I'll probably trench out a spot, line it with crushed stone to help with drainage, then add a sack or so of Miracle-Gro soil.

I'm also gambling with:

Keith’s mother is settled, as much as possible, in her room and says the nurses are very nice.  She is missing her glasses & has to wait until tomorrow when Keith’s brother takes them to her.  I would hate not to have mine.

How about:

Chai oatmeal topped with raisins, currants and brown sugar

or:

Apple cinnamon oatmeal, with cranberries instead of the usual raisins.

der Brucer

I haven't seen so much oatmeal since Kayla threw up her breakfast during circle time a while back.

TOD:

Interviewing Gordon Mitchell, star of ATLAS AGAINST THE CYCLOPS and FRANKENSTEIN'S CASTLE OF BLOODY FREAKS...which set in motion more and more interviews of various vintage celebrities.

It had always been my dream to meet and have a chance to chat with some of my favorite actors and actresses, and now that has come true...but I never dreamed some of them would end up becoming very dear and special friends!

Speaking of Humphries (albeit spelled differently), John Inman, the actor who played Sales Clerk Mr. Humphries on Are You Being Served? has died.

John Inman

What a shame.  Vixdad and I met him once when we used to be regular volunteers at our local PBS station.   Back in the late 80's I was chosen to be in a documentary the BBC was doing on  the popularity of 'Are You being Served?" in the US, we all went to the assistant staion manger's home and watched a tape of  AY.B.S. on the tv while the BBC crew filmed us watching. Then they interviewed us and put little `30 second blips of us saying how we enjoyed it.... Vixdad's family still in  England called us when it aired...

ANYWAY.... when John Inman came to be a guest speaker at one of  WLIW21's begathons     pledge drives, Vixdad and I were invited to be part of the on air volunteers and invited to a private room  to view the BBC film .  John Inman was standing next to me while we were watching , he had just autographed something for me, when suddenly my face filled the screen answering a question about whether  I felt the humor was accessible to the average  American... and John Inman turned to me and said  "Why that's you!!  I had better have your autograph!"

So the only time in my whole I was ever asked for my autograph was by John Inman.

He was very a very pleasant and very funny man and I am very sorry to hear abot his passing

I began my evening with BULLITT. I'm rewatching this very old DVD issue to see if I want to upgrade to the Blu-ray version.

Yes, the transfer does look old, but some shots look very good, and as seldom as I watch the film, this one might do me just fine right for now.

Amazon has a 50% off sale on Fox and Sony Blu-rays right now, and if they extend this to Warners discs eventually, I'll buy it. I'd rather spend that $20 on something I don't have yet in any version. I've been thinking about FOURTEEN HOURS which Amazon also has on sale right now.
