The judge did say that no matter what the jury decided, he believed the government proved at least felony murder...that's first degree. Good thing we had a jury.

Don't feel bad Jane, I forgot to mention it. After the sentencing was over Edith and I went back to the office and packed up the file. It took up most of a filing cabinet so we put it in bankers boxes. I don't anticipate an appeal, and if he decides to appeal, I won't be doing it. As much as I like having those intense cases every once in a while, it always takes a lot out of me and it's always a relief to pack up the file and reorganize the office. Made me feel great

Glad you are done with it then. I truly hope he will come out of prison with the ability, and desire, not to repeat the mistakes that got him in trouble in the first place.

I also ran into Paul at the grocery store. How someone can be as mean as he was then totally blow me off for 2 months and now act like nothing happened defies belief. Luckily I was in too good of a mood to care. I was civil, but I won't be calling him any time soon. I'm glad that friendship is over.

My friend, Stan, was rushed back to the hospital today. The nursing home has not kept his incision clean and he developed in infection. That and not getting enough nutrition or liquids, caused him to suffer renal failure. He will be in ICU for a couple of days

Yesterday, I roasted a turkey. It turned out well.

Cilla, we have a Paul at our grocery store. I think you'd like him better. He's not the brightest bulb on the chandelier, but he gives off a nice warm glow. If you know what I mean.

When it came out on DVD several years ago, and I bought it and watched it, that was the first time *I* had ever seen it. I always kept missing it on various TV broadcasts. It is indeed a wonderful screwball comedy.

I was able to finish the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE episode I had started and then watched three more complete episodes. Then I started another and got about 15 minutes in. When I finish the episode I'm watching, I will still have 7 more to watch to complete the set.

Has anyone here read TWILIGHT by stephenie meyer?

It's sort of labelled a teen/thriller. But i think it would only be for very well-read older teens who love to read (it's 500 pages).

My brother-in-law's 20 something cousin recommended it. As have a couple of other people (it's a best seller).

It's a series of 3 more books. I watched DWTS and was going ot watch LIFE. But I was reading. This book is very addicting!

I watched the entire NBC slate of shows tonight, and they all had their best episodes of the new season.

I began with CHUCK, a funny outing with CHUCK coming through with his own talent and resources which I enjoyed seeing. John Larouquette was a bit annoying early on, but later when it was obvious he was going to be no real help, I enjoyed the rest of the cast just fine.

As JR probably knows, the press kept saying it was TWENTIETH CENTURY that Frances costarred with Barrymore in, rather than WORLD PREMIERE, in all of the AP/UPI stories that came out in 1957 when she was "discovered" in San Francisco.

HEROES had a wonderful episode tonight with all these various plots FINALLY starting to make a little sense. All the jump forwards and jump backs now have a real purpose and I see the connections.

And LIFE had an excellent murder mystery with lots of great lines and quirky behavior from Charlie. What an enjoyable, offbeat kind of procedural show.
