Strong Sexual Content.....that's the warning on tonight's OUTLANDER episode.

I watched it ON Demand......their standard are decidedly different than mine.....

Doctor Oz was recommending on Tv last light, if you're living with someone so you're both always touching the same stuff anyway, that sex is a very good thing to do

I wondered if  he was going to add "since you're doomed anyway," but I think he meant it.

George, I've been meaning to ask you how your sister's haircut went. Are the two of you still speaking?

Actually, I haven't gone over to do it, yet.  She hasn't asked again, so I'll wait until she does.

Some of you may have seen the article last Friday in the NY Times By David Katz, MD. He feels the US (and others) is taking too general of an approach to the pandemic. Today, Tom Friedman echoed Dr Katz's opinion. I am also of that view. We are wrecking the economy and lots of financial lives, too. Be safe, yes -- more cleaning, distancing -- but some of the restrictions here make no sense to me. No more drive-in theatres, for instance. There aren't many left, to start with, but how could that speed the spread? Like Dr Katz, I feel we need a targeted approach.

I thought drive-in theaters were a good alternative to indoor theaters, just leave the snack stand closed or have it delivered to the car.

Nice short interview with Ennio Morricone about the music used in the Pasolini trilogy.

But i have no interest today in watching all the other extras on this disc. And I may wait before watching The Decameron and Arabian Nights.

Finished watching Chinatown.  Brilliant.  New 4K transfer.  In comparing it to the Blu-ray, which I wasn't thrilled with in terms of detail, this new transfer is, at least on the computer screen, perhaps a bit yellower than the Blu-ray but it's very minor and mostly affects the blue, which should be a bit bluer than it is.  Nitpicking to be sure.  One does wonder if Mr. Wasson actually watched the picture.  In one of the book's anecdotes, it's said that James Hong's butler character had no name in the script and the Dunaway asked him what he thinks would be a good name.  He purportedly said "Hahn" - close to his own name.  Even if the anecdote came from Mr. Hong himself, it's not brain surgery to watch the film where he is clearly called Khan.

I somehow missed Spike Lee's World War II film, Miracle at St. Anna, when it was released back in 2008. I've started watching it. The war scenes are as devastating as any I've seen on film. I don't know that I can take much more of this tonight. But it's a fine beginning.

Just placed another Gelson's Instacart but to deliver here directly - will come Friday - not a big order, just a new jar of Noxema (not something folks are hoarding) and hopefully some tuna (which people ARE hoarding), a couple of other minor items that should be in stock.

I haven’t seen a jar of Noxema  in ages, I didn’t know it was still being made.  Does it still come in a blue glass jar?

Not much of an opera person, but listening to a beauty now by a French composer I really like, whose music I discovered in the early days of CD when I was buying anything that sounded interesting.  This is called Polypheme and is by Jean Cras.  It got a beauty of a recording a while back but I grabbed the whole thing on You Tube.

I've eaten a lot of small things today - eggs and toast, kishka, a few cashews and peanuts, an ounce of string cheese, a few crackers.

Tomorrow may be a pasta day - perhaps spaghetti with red sauce and some sautéed onion.

This afternoon, I decided to go to Subway because I had a coupon where any large sandwich was only $5.99!  So, I take a shower, get dressed, get in my card, drive to Subway, order my sandwich (Subway Melt on Italian Herb and Cheese with pepperjack cheese).  It's at THIS point that I realize that I DON'T HAVE MY WALLET!! :o

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did a drive.  Went by Gelson's at six - pretty empty parking lot and no lines - don't know what was left, but I thought that was heartening.

I PROFUSELY apologize to the woman who just made my sandwich that I only live on the other side of the freeway and I'll be right back.  I promise!

I RUSHED home and COULD NOT FIND MY WALLET!!  I looked all over my house and was thinking about getting quarters out of my change jar or calling my sister to borrow money or her debit card, but when I got back in my car, I found my wallet in my car under a piece of paper and realized that I left my wallet there last night!  WHEW!!  I rushed back to the Subway, apologized profusely again and paid and left a 20% tip. ;D

I thoroughly enjoyed half of my sandwich for my lunch.  The other half will be enjoyed as I eat it for my dinner very shortly.
