BLITHE SPIRIT went well last night - good audience and good performances....nice applause at the end.....I am very pleased.
Edi - I loved the trailer - I am now having concerns about meeting you in Stony Brook apparently we may be away that weekend - I may have to wait for the NYC premier - but we will see - I really want to go the SBU one..
Five kittens certainly make for a lot of crashing noises.
And the word of the day is: TANTIVY!

DR Jane, I know nothing about B&N's pricing on their Nook.
I know that I can get Borders' Kobo, while we have them, for a discounted price.
IF I got one, I'd be getting it primarily for Mum, who could read books on it as if they were large print editions.
Plus our store would get major credit if our employees purchased a Kobo - there's some sort of nonsensical corporate contest involved. . .
There is currently a set of the three books on the ABE - signed by the translator - $13,966. Naturally, that dealer will be sitting on those books for the rest of his life.

Thanks for the comments, guys! The ending music was written by my friend Michael Roth. bk met him at our SACCO AND VANZETTI screening. (He collaborates with Alice Ripley.) He's Randy Newman's music director, and since I used so much of Randy's music as temp track, he seemed like a logical choice to score the film. We got a lot of great music with a tiny budget and very small ensemble.
I wonder if they would submit it for an Oscar? It doesn't seem like something that would get nominated but then again, I never imagined the Mercer doc would get an Emmy nomination! (I wish I could take more joy in that...)

Loved the trailer, Amy. I had two tickets to the ballgame this afternoon that I gave away. Now I wish I'd kept them; I'm inpspired to go watch baseball.
DR elmore in a suite-WOW!:) Thank you for the photos Ginny.

Well, whoever paid $1,500,000 to be your neighbor, might spend $14K for some books.

Record cold at LAX as July gloom continues

Unusually cold temperatures in Southern California continued, with Los Angeles International Airport setting a record low on Friday.

I don't have a song in my head right now...

People are confused about the weather of Washington. I shall explain basics:
Winter is cold.
Summer is hot.
Every year these truths hit the populace with the force of a thunderbolt.

We took DR Elmore on a little adventure today to the Harry London Quality Chocolates (http://www.harrylondon.com/storelocator.aspx) factory store, where we all sampled some chocolates and shopped a bit. On the way back to downtown Canton, we found another confectioner that had my "holy grail," dark chocolate raisin clusters. Back downtown we visited a used paperback bookstore and picked out a place to have dinner. It's right next to the theater where we'll see THE WIZARD OF OZ and within walking distance of our hotel. Everyone is relaxing a bit before we start our trek up there in about an hour.
Is this the cutest picture, or what?

Some children demand more attention than others:
What a dog. :)
Some children demand more attention than others:
My neighbor's gal pal is out there parading around topless again - she just doesn't seem to care if there might be others who can see her do so - each time I walk by my bedroom window I'm greeted by perky breasts. I went outside to sit near the pool and read and was humming loudly so she'd know there was someone around - but it just doesn't phase her.

Perky Breasts, is the name of my new fast-food chicken shack!
I think she wants to be seen.
Oh, and tell him that Al Rosen is going to attend the screening in San Francisco and answer questions (and I'm sure autograph) after the film.

Have you seen Denis Leary's rant on Mel Gibson?

Maybe it was a wrong number.
Did you delete it? How did you write the guy that at least didn't send it? I figure you clicked on the text version of reply.
I think you put cat litter on oil and then sweep it up
