DR RonP, I just checked out that zabasearch site and even though everyone is within 1% (i think), they have blake in the lead. I am in complete shock.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Rosie and Elisabeth (on the View) pleading with people to vote for him yesterday).

He is my favorite. But i always assumed the girls were more popular.

I am although we don't get Bravo here and will only get the show 6 weeks later than you guys.  This makes it very hard to read HHW since i know a lot of people here watch the show. :(

Good Afternoon!

Hmm... Well, the sun keeps breaking through the clouds periodically.. Which I'm guessing will mean that we'll have some pretty decent thunderstorms as predicted later.

I can understand your point of view.  I think maybe seeing it from onstage may have been a disadvantage.  I know I didn't get the full effect of the lighting and there were times where I was so interested in what they were doing technically that I let the story slide a little.  So, to be fair, I may have felt differently if I had seen it from the audience first.

And at some point I realized Duncan Sheik was playing in the orchestra (do you call that an orchestra when it's more of a band?) So it was fun to watch him play...

Ok, maybe I wasn't exactly getting into the mood of the piece.

And I have to say that even though I was watching most of it on a screen in a pit, I actually liked the revival of A Chorus Line better the second time around.  Although, I think being surrounded by all that SOUND in the pit had something to do with it, rather then hearing it all processed through the sound system in the house.

I have a question.  Maybe it's just the rules for the Tonys or whatever, but wouldn't the book writer for Spring Awakening be Frank Wedekind?
I thought that was the whole point, it's his play with modern music.  So, I don't get how Steven Satar is nominated for best book. Is it that he changed the original play so much that it is no longer the original play?

I'm not exactly sure what the Tony rules are regarding translations and adaptations, but I believe the book for Spring Awakening is most definitely an adaptation.  The whole text of the original play (even in translation) is not presented during the course of Spring Awakening.  Additionally, some plot points have also been changed from the original play.  They're minor ones, but changes nonetheless.  I think the comparison to My Fair Lady is a good one.

eenie, meenie, minie, mo...

I loved that sketch!  As well as the Goldenrod one from the first half.  And, frankly, I wouldn't have mind another sketch or two to fill out the evening.

SPOO!

TACOMA, Wash. —  Two Union Pacific freight trains derailed early Wednesday between Tacoma and Olympia, disrupting Amtrak passenger rail service, railroad officials said.

DRsingdaw! I kept thinking "what was I supposed to do this week?" and it was to thank you.  I am truly embarassed and humbled by my unintentional rudeness to you.  Please forgive me.

Something tells me I owe DR tomovoz a big thanks for his shipment as well.  I can only blame outside stress and preoccupation.  My critics would say I'm an irresponsible ingrate, if not something much harsher, but I can admit to irresponsible ingrate,  I hope you will both accept my apologies and thanks.

On another note, I'm having coffee with the wonderful baritone Rodney Gilfry in around 45 minutes.

I like The Wild Bunch: An Album In Montage

Others have been variable, but they're all enjoyable.

I kind of like the SPRING AWAKENING cd....but I must tell you that even when I was a teenager - I thought the problems of teenagers were boring....you can imagine how I feel now.

DR MBARNUM I think HOMEFRONT made it to almost TWO seasons.

I couldn't agree more. When I read a biography, that's the part of a person's life that interests me the least.

I couldn't wait to get out of my own teen years and be an adult.

I had a long afternoon of viewing, and I enjoyed it all.

I began with VERONICA MARS. Actually, Veronica's first case as a true gade-A detective was weak as water. Keith's crime investigation was actually more interesting and open-ended since no arrests were made, and now his position as sheriff is in jeopardy. I'll be interested to see how this all wraps up in the next two episodes (combined into a two hour season finale next week.)

He certainly did.

And Alexander Borodin won as Best Composer for KISMET.
