Thank you, DRL.  It is a comfort to have someone here with me.  But I know that even if she wasn't here, I'm not truly alone.  I know all of you are here with me as well.  :)

Always, DR Danise!

AMERICA's NEXT TOP MODEL finale results

*
*
*

....And I'm not really that happy with the winner of "America's Next Top Model" either.  Well, I wasn't really happy with the final two.  Nor the final three.  Ah, well...  ::)

I was really mad that they dumped renee, who was the best of the three.  She had the best commercial and the best photo, yet they kept natasha???

Geez how many chances are they going to give natasha. Her pic was not that great and her commercial was pretty bad!  I was so happy that she did not win!

Actually my fav was brittany (until she had that meltdown).

Why did they cut renee's hair so short (making her look older) if they did not want her to look that way!

I really wish we could have seen her do runway.

DR Elmore you did not miss UGLY BETTY. Today is wednesday. It is on Thursday.

Btw, who were the GL actors?

Oh, relief!

The gentlemen were downstairs and I didn't see them.  Ron told me he was meeting them there.

The worst part is that when this is over, I might need you guys vibes more then now.  It's going to be such an adjustment.

Yes, I know that is true.

Are you off from work for now?

AMERICAN IDOL RESULTS SPOILERS

Okay i am so happy that blake is safe. But i feel so bad for melinda (and DR RonP, sorry).   But i must say i hated how they did the results.  They made jordin safe so quickly and without anyone suspense.  They dragged things out so they ran out of time (did anyone here what simon said when melinda was eliminated, i really wanted to hear that).

DR Jose, i doubt melinda knew.  I think chris r knew because he said he had a feeling. Although he could have potentially just checked with dialidol or something and seen that he was going.

I"m sure melinda was nervous because she was told they votes were so close. THat meant anyone could go. Though i am really surprised it was her.

So who will her votes go to? I'm guessing mostly jordin.

I will be busy the next few days & won’t likely post.  After Sherlock’s appointment tomorrow Keith & I will likely have some major discussions & decisions to make regarding his future, or what we feel is best for him.  That is unless a miracle has happened.  At the moment he is doing well, no matter what is going on with his bones.

I expect to return on Saturday or Sunday.
Don’t forget, even if I’m not posting I am responding to email.

I'm glad you are home, Jane. We missed you.

And I sure hope that Sherlock gets good news on his appointment tomorrow. Well, you folks will get the news. But you know what I mean.

Actually, I think grasshoppers, which are with us almost all the time in some quantities, have cyclical patterns similar to locusts, which afflict communities every seven years or so.

Or am I confusing this with something else?

Perhaps you meant every 6.66 years!

Today was a productive day. After my classes I met with my counselor and we discussed my next ( and last) two terms and decided the classes I need to take to graduate and transfer successfully. We also decided that I want to change my Major from Theater to Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations. I will still pursue acting, but not take classes in college, just outside.

I then came home and we listened to Bruce's Brad Ellis Big Band version of Cabaret. :) I loved it, of course.

For those of you who are music fans and either live here in LA or may be visiting, an event will be taking place here in hollywood that my mother and I  have been enjoying for 3 years. The 2007 Hollywood & Highland Summer Jazz Concert Series. The music is great, usually from pro's who have been playing for many years, big bands, crowds of music lovers, and great food from the surrounding restaurants. " Also, enjoy tasting fine wines while nibbling on an assortment of cheeses, fruits and breads prepared by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Entertainment is FREE. Wine tasting is $10.00. All proceeds benefit Project Angel Food". The concerts take place in the outside courtyard under the stars.

The 2007 Hollywood & Highland Summer Jazz Concert Series
Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm
June 5th to September 4th

On another note, I'm having coffee with the wonderful baritone Rodney Gilfry in around 45 minutes.

Only coffee?

Good Evening!

I thought Mr. Yamin sounded pretty good.  Alas, the song was not so good.  And the almost constantly closed eyes drove me up the wall too.

I agree completely. I thought his tone and phrasing were impeccable. The song was rather repetative and dull. The closed eyes didn't bother me much. Lots of singers are more inward and outward. Not good for singing actors, of course, but I've noticed quite a few singers who don't connect their eyes with the audience.

DR Cillaliz - So, did you get the papers delivered?  ;)

LOL, yes. It was really funny, when I said I had to get them upstairs to another lawyer, the building manager said "My office is right next door to his, I'll tell him you've been delayed, now go look at the furniture"   She is a very strong and insistant sort of person, but  she has also been very helpful, so I am listening to her, at least for now.

My IDOL votes won't go to either of them. The elimination means I am through voting for this season. It's a relief actually.

elmore, do you think Mr. Gilfrey would fly himself out to do the fundraiser?  I'm going to be begging several NY folks to do so.  Meanwhile, as I feared might happen, Susan Egan has to fly out the following week and won't be able to do the show now.  But Mr. Spirtas is fine, so that's good.  I'm thinking about asking Matt Ashford to do it.

I began my evening with the DVD of THE LONG HOT SUMMER. I had put off buying this for too long, so I finally remembered to get it and watched it tonight. What a grand southern fried melodrama!

I also watched the "Backstory" featurette on the making of the film. I remember halfway looking at this when it came on AMC years ago, so I'm glad it was included on the disc so I could watch the whole thing attentively.

BONES had an excellent season finale with some grand tearful moments for Temperence (and me) as she watched a videotape of her long lost mother. Funny wedding for Hodgins and Angela, too.

CROSSING JORDAN had a plane crash series finale episode. I have a feeling we wouldn't have been shown that last scene if the show were coming back next year. It would have been a cliffhanger for next season.

I'm going to miss the show, but it was time for it to go. There were lots of cast changes in the last three seasons, and that's usually a time to know that a show is on the downside. Only a few (LAW & ORDER, ER) usually are able to withstand changing major members of the cast so frequently.
