Well, you've read the notes, the notes were noted all too soon, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they'll be home all too soon.
-
And the word of the day is: ACCOLADE!
-
First post after BK.
-
And a Very Happy Birthday to (former?) DR Charles Pogue!
-
Well I’m thinking we had your life as an actor, your life as a record producer....so life as a show director/producer?
-
Nope.
-
And happy birthday to the long lost DR Charles Pogue who I assume is still somewhere in the wilds of Kentucky
-
Nope.
Hmmmmmm
-
Mr. Pogue resides in the wilds of Facebook.
-
Well I’ve been awake (for no good reason) for 22 hours now so I guess I’ll try and go to sleep
-
I’m all out of ideas
-
Good....morning all
-
Good night, Vixmom.
-
I'm off to bed now, too. I have no plans for today, and I hope that that doesn't change.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Vexing morning between cats and emails.
-
My rent check for this month has not yet cleared and that concerns me.
-
The cats are misbehaving this morning and they left me a huge mess to clean up. Goodie-goodie Thatch is responsible for the vandalism of a package of kitty treats that litter the floor, Stella left a mess on the bathroom floor from playing in the waste basket, and Annabelle's rambling resulted in the death of my table fan. What a day!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Trying hard not to get out of bed.
-
Active cats. It’s why J.B. has a cage.
-
Being cats is why I love them. Still, kitty cleanup was huge this morning, and I at times have resorted to locking them in the bathroom while I work.
-
Taking care of Annabelle's damage to the table fan will take me a while. I have things to move and plugs and outlets to reach.

Since John Russell was once my publicity client, I was quite interested to read "LAWMAN: A Companion to the Classic TV Western Series" by Bill Levy, published by BearManor Media.
Well researched, this excellent book guides you through all 156 episodes of the popular 1958-1962 series, which starred Russell as "Marshal Dan Troop", Peter Brown and Peggy Castle. The 225 page volume supplies cast, crew, synopses and background information for each 1/2 hour show. There are also anecdotes by actors who appeared on various episodes, plus plenty of photos, and a Foreword by Will "Sugarfoot" Hutchins.

I had to make a corner bodega trip. I ran into my neighbor Judy, the wife of jazz pianist Mark Soskin. She was picking up things for a flight today to Dallas, where Mark was performing there and who's has been hospitalized with a health issue. I hope he's okay. They're really wonderful neighbors.

DITTO on the birthday wishes🎂🎁

Rent check clearing vibes!
-
Last night the cats and I watch Monsieur Verdoux, which I really love. Annabelle was thrilled to see Martha Raye as the indestructible Annabelle, the one wife Verdoux fails to murder.

Interesting.

Good vibes to the neighbors of DR elmore.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE's friend.....
-
I had to go over to my uncle's house.....he turned off his computer by pressing the button and so of course got the blank screen when he turned it on.....etc.
I showed him how to use the computer to shut down.....and told him not to have SO many windows open......
Perhaps that will help. I also downloaded the AVG virus protection - I wanted to get him the AT&T free protection, but he doesn't know his user name and password.
I wrote it down and told him to ask them next time he talks to them.....and also check what his download speed is to make sure he gets the FREE protection......

A couple of nice basketball games on this afternoon!
-
Hmmmmm......the book is about theatres that are no longer there and the shows that MR BK saw in them.....
-
I'm up, I'm up - who knows how much sleep - maybe five hours.
-
Hmmmmm......the book is about theatres that are no longer there and the shows that MR BK saw in them.....
Nope. I'm thinking I'll reveal on Monday.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Had a rehearsal this morning, so am just now ketchuping.
-
This afternoon I need to prepare music for a church service I’m playing tomorrow, while keeping a close eye on the weather.
The snow that’s part of the big storm moving across the northeast really needs to get in and out as quickly as possible so that I can easily get out of my driveway in the morning. We don’t need a LOT, and we don’t need it LATE, thank you very much.
-
The book is about cats. And Cats.
-
No. No one should ever have to read that.
-
I finally got up at 11. I'm still dragging. Watching the rest of The Golden Bowl. The Jamesian twists are in full flower as we near the ending.
-
I have to make a pie in a bit.
-
I should be shopping for a new clothes washer.
-
Pie crust is prebaking. I know where my priorities are.
-
Listening to the new album from the Who, appropriately titled Who. It's fun, nostalgic and it has a classic lyric about aging called Rockin' in Rage. The tempos are a slower than before. Daltry's voice is not as impressive as it used to be. But the Townshend style is still there musically.
I didn't expect as much as it delivered.

That final shot was everything.

The pie looks wonderful. Now it has to sit for four hours to settle and cool down.

too bad I can't try it until tomorrow night.

Jennifer I feel for you. How many layers of clothes do you wear to go outside?
I just wear my regular puffer winter jacket with a sweat shirt under it (instead of a regular long sleeve shirt). But I just have a hat, warm gloves and two neckwarmers. It wasn't that bad. But i only had to be outside for less than 5 minutes at a time.

I will hold my breath until Monday.

No Snow Vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.

I didn't see KNIVES OUT .... yet.

Well, my tablet's battery is about to die, so I need to plug it in and charge it up. I also need to do some work on my computer, so I'll be back soonly.
-
Thanks for the reminder, George. I need to recharge my Kindle.

Very said exchange in 21 Up between director Michael Apted and a young man named Neil:
Apted: Would you like to be 7 again?
Neil: No. Because I would grow up and have to be 21 again.

Yes, we were discussing it today.

What kind of pie is it?

I just walked in fleece lined pants. On my upper half I layered my warmest Cuddle Duds top, a heavy sweatshirt with a hood, a warm vest, a warm coat. I wore a heavy fleece scarf & a nice fleece hat with ear flaps and it was 40 (4.4c) degrees out though the chill factor made it seem like 36 (2.2c) degrees.
I was wondering how you could wear so little clothing until you said it was only for 5 minutes ;D

It is still playing at the theater near us.

Have I mentioned that I love how quickly my new tablet charges? I had to keep my old one plugged in all the time, and if I was lucky it would be charged by bedtime.

Yikes! I bought my washer and dryer (granted, this was more than 13 years ago ::) ) for about $600.

So far we have been very happy with our new GE

Looks like we may be in the market for a new dishwasher

Ant recommendations?
-
Actually we decided against getting an ant

Any dishwasher recommendations?

Yes I would not go walking in this weather with any amount of clothing. But for us 36F is warm. I wouldn't even need a hat. :)
The frigid temps actually weren't too bad. It wasn't windy.

Sounds good unless it is tart.

The damp & the wind make it worse. When I walked in -40 degree weather in Michigan it took me half an hour to layer on enough clothes to go outside.

I like my Bosch dishwasher. It has one of those skinny trays at the top for knives & other flat items. It took a few times for me to remember it was there to use & to empty.

Is there an echo in the house?? :))

No Scarlett Strallen or Hugh Panero. Alli Mauzey, a former Glinda, and Gary Mauerare singing. Both good, Debbie Gravitte better.
-
I paid all of $10for a ticket in the center of row E. But there’s a good crowd.
-
$700 poorer but a new washer is coming in a week.
What did you get?
An Amana. Same as the last one, which lasted 20 years.

Well, the concert was interesting. The audience loved the Lloyd Webber, which I thought sounded a mush when orchestrated for a full symphony. The added strings just sounded like noise. Only the percussion and brass showed well.
Mauer did a crowd-pleasing version of Music of the Night, which had the audience on its feet. The finale was from the Philharmonic's My Favorite Leading Ladies show with Julie Andrews. Mauer sang "Love Changes Everything," Mauzey sang "Unexpected Song" and then Debbie sang "I Don't Know How to Love Him" before they all sang together.
-
I'm back at home. Much work to be done. None of it tonight.
-
I'm chilling to an oddity, Fritz Lang's The Tiger of Eschnapur. This may be the first color film of Lang's that I remember seeing. It's filmed in India and stars Debra Paget speaking in German. There's a sequel in the set called The Indian Tomb.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!

Well, I'm burning another homemade Blu-ray! ;D
-
Last year, PBS showed a one-hour special, The International Jazz Day Global All-Star Concert from St Petersburg, Russia, originally recorded in 2018.
-
I recorded it mainly because The Manhattan Transfer performed on it...even though they performed only one song.
-
But, I found out that PBS only showed about half the concert!
-
What's that all about??
-
At some point, I wondered if any of it was on YouTube, and it turns out that the whole 2-hour concert was on YouTube!
-
The Manhattan still only performed their one song, but still, it's the whole concert!
-
And here's the link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKiWqkw4AuA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKiWqkw4AuA)
-
Anyway, I was able to download the whole video and I am now burning it onto a Blu-ray disc.
-
Here's an article about the concert...Letter From Saint Petersburg (https://jazztimes.com/features/columns/letter-from-saint-petersburg/). "In 2018, International Jazz Day brings the beyond-politics cultural diplomacy of the U.N. to Russia."

Ms. Paget is displaying her skills in an extended musical number that had to be cut to pass the Hays Code. She's at the based of a gargantuan fertility goddess wearing little but beads with a giant red stone strategically placed over her golden bikini bottom. A few pelvic thrusts, a few shimmies and, well, her audience is ready to do anything she wants. Captivating.

Damned Hays Code! >:(
;)

Earlier today, I upgraded my Edge browser to the new Microsoft Edge Chromium, based on Google's Chrome.
-
I've been using it today and so far I like it.
-
I probably won't make it my default browser, but it's nice to have another browser that I like.
-
Had a good run-through today - some calling for lines but not too bad.
-
Good night, all.
-
But first ...
-
Then I got Subway for lunch and dinner (one foot-long for lunch, one six-inch for dinner), ate the foot-long, had our stumble-through, which was fun, found out we are VERY light for tomorrow's show, which is infuriating, have been doing some clean-up on the book (style things), and relaxing.
-
Five!

George, what does it do when you double “BOLD” something?

Double bold: Ditto!!
-
Doesn't look any different. :-\
-
But, I found out that PBS only showed about half the concert!
Most of the concerts shown on PBS do not include all of the concert. A lot of times they release the unedited version as one of their fund raising jifts.

I don't know. I've never tried that.

I am reading a strange little book on my Kindle. It is called TIMEWRECK TITANIC. It is kind of like those fan fiction books that people write about their favorite fictional characters. Only in this case, it is the ship that is the fan favorite.
-
Well, I finished my Blu-ray of the International Jazz Day Concert and it look great! You'd think that it was good enough to be commercially made...except for the menus. I have no idea how a professional would put that together.
