DR FJL - Congrats to your ever-lovin' Skip on the Herringbone reviews.

*I may be thinking of a totally different project, but was there talk at one time of a TV or at least filmed presentation of Herringbone?  For some reason, I'm thinking there was..  ???

Ginny- It looks like a nice itinerary, a bit different than ours.

We went to Sitka instead of Skagway.  I’m not sure which is the least exciting of the two. And your mother will go to Nanaimo, BC instead of our Victoria.  We would have liked that since we have been to Victoria.

Tell her Juneau is a nice town in a great setting.  The town of Ketchikan is charming, if she can explore it & see the back shops along the canal.  None of the towns are very large.

I wish her a wonderful trip, clear weather & a gentle voyage.

Hmm...

I'm currently watching ABC's current "Star Search"/"American Idol"/etc. rip-off, "The One: The Making a Music Star".  Talent opinions aside, I just think the audio levels and balance are not exactly complimentary to the singers.

Hmm...

I am very tired today.  Probably a lot of it has to do with the last five hot days and hot nights.  !!!  Wait a minute, that sounded a lot more exciting than it realy was.  I would have liked to be curled up in my little bed by now, but I am doing some voice work this evening for an animation project.  I probably should have said "no" when I was contacted; but it is a little late now.  Hopefully, it won't be too late.

We went to both on our trip, although it was over 20 years ago.  Skagway was more of a touristy Old West/Gold Rush type of town. There is a narrow gauge railway there - we didn't take it. Sitka is very interesting. We went to a native potlatch there and had some great salmon. I thought they were both interesting, just a lot different from each other

I think I preferred Skagway to Sitka.  I can’t remember which excursion we did in which town on our first trip with the boys.  That was the year Bryan graduated high school, about 12 years ago.

We were in a bar in Sitka and a guy actually said to me "Hey, would you like to come over to my house and see my moose?"  Not a pick-up line that would work in the middle of Iowa.

Jane & Cillaliz - I've sent both of your comments about Alaska trips to my mom.

And, peeking in on my work email, I found the official info about the conference in NYC on October 6 & 7 - I'm getting excited!

Hmm...maybe that is where we took the beautiful train ride & then went hiking.

Well, I've pretty much decided that I can't justify calling in sick tomorrow, so...off to bed.

YES!!! Is she/he yours???

She is an option.  She is 12 weeks old & lives 350 miles away in California.  We need more information before we rush off to see her, and by then she might have a new home.

DR MattH, Beverly's a better role!  Wasn't it fun?  You might know the answer to this query:  any date set for Mae West #2, especially SHE DONE HIM WRONG?

Oh, yes, a much more fun role even if he only gets to be in the second act.

Universal has not set a date for second helpings of Deanna Durbin, Mae West, or Marlene Dietrich. Very frustrating. I'm not sure how well each of their boxed sets did, and that, of course, determines if there will be any more.

However, I'll let you know as soon as I know.
