Good morning, all! I slept quite well last night, with one long and rambling dream about producing a tour of SHE LOVES ME. I've still got "Good Morning Good Day" running through my head.
Around 11am, I will head down to Toyland for some work. Before I go, I will check in on Mr Ron Raines, who had some minor surgery yesterday, and see if he needs anything. His wife Dona is away directing an opera in Birmingham, Charlotte's back in Ann Arbor, and so I am keeping an eye on our invalid for the next couple of days.
I've just purchased my train ticket to DC and put my mail on hold for next Monday and Tuesday, so I'm ready for my trip. I need to compile a list of things I want to look over while I'm there.
DR Ben, I have a meeting at Toyland tomorrow at noon. Are you and Anthony up for a visit around 2:30 or 3?
I am hungry. Maybe I should go back and read about some of those delicious breakfasts.
I wol dhave loved tohav ebeenon
And the word of the day is: ORRERY!

Oy and Vey - auditions for Altar Boyz today - something I've been dreading for almost a year. Tried to get out of it several times, but it didn't work. Tried reading the libretto last night but it reminded me too much of a pumped up Forever Plaid. Trying to see the positive side here...The positive side is that the run will be over in the near future?
Jane, to answer your question from yesterday, my appendicitis doctor is in the process of writing a report to be sent to my primary care physician. He should have it by the time I see my PCP
Hello, all. I've been very E&T the past week preparing for my step-mom's memorial service which took place last night. I put together a 10 minute video which showed her life from babyhood to her last week here. It was kind of emotionally draining to do but I'm glad I had the technology to do that.
Now I'm on the couch in Blue Ridge. It's impossible to sleep here but no good internet connection so I'm typing on my phone. Glad I can read the notes on my phone!
Yes DR JANE - it was a surprise to see DR RODZINSKI yesterday.
Boo and Ricky have reached some sort of agreement Boo sleeps curled up under my left armpit and Ricky on the right. I am not supposed to move, lol
And I discovered a channel that gets Kathy Griffin's my Life On the D List. And they have 4 episodes on today.I used to love this show (It was on the Comedy Network here). But they stopped showing it after the first few seasons. I am so happy I will get to see this season.
DR GEORGE I think the Blu ray of 2001:A Space Odyssey is one of my favorite Blu Ray discs.

Horrifying news out of Tucson this afternoon :'(I agree. I hope this is the straw that causes Sarah Palin to go away, but it would be a shame that it would require the loss of lives for that to happen.
What a coincidence! I too, hit a squirrel yesterday morning. Two slight "thud" sounds and I suspect he was off to meet his maker. I usually take some sort of evasive action, but the traffic was such that I could have caused a human type accident.
On a happier note, my copy of Casino Royale arrived a couple of days ago. I have not been able to listen yet, but the package & booklet are top-notch!
I was about to add to my I-Pod, but found that the track names were not found in Grace Notes. Bruce, do your CDs get listed with any of these services?

Whew! I've done about all the undecking that I can do in one day. All living/dining room decor is packed away, except for the angel collection. That may stay on and around the piano until we return. The mantle in the family room is back to everyday and all of the ornaments are off the tree. Ours are packed and Rob's are ready to be packed - we just have to decide on a box. When we run the dishwasher next - probably tomorrow - we'll switch back to our non-Christmas dishes. Seems like we just got all this stuff out...

The meeting this morning was fine. The helper's boyfriend and the helper's best friend will coordinate and get done what needs to be done, so that it's not all falling on my shoulders. Apparently our vibes and xylophones are working but we're going to have to keep them coming VERY strongly for another two weeks, I think. One piece of advice I gave them was heeded and that apparently did some good.

Before blaming Palin's "hit" list I suggest waiting for more details. The first news out indicates this 22 year old had his own strange agenda.

I'd read that the show has ended...there won't be a new season. :(

I blame her for everything these days.

I wouldn't even know where to find grits here. OR how to make them.Check near the oatmeal and follow the directions on the box. I love them doused with about a quarter bottle of Tabasco sauce on top. And a bit of butter.

I am very saddened that a federal district court judge was shot and killed. It's too bad they aren't discussing him much on TV
CNN is going to talk about him next. The judge I appear before on a regular basis is going to Tucson to help with the caseload in February. I wonder if he'll have to go sooner now

Yup. I bet she's the reason your property in Ohio hasn't sold ;)

I find it interesting a judge from one state can go help in another state-nice too.
I was able to read headlines about the threats to the judge, however, I can't open any of the news stories. I think too many computers in this house are slowing down our connections.
A federal judge can relocate to another state then, an advantage if one wants it.

I'm not sure about that part. They can be a visiting judge, but I'm not sure they can just move without the President appointing them or something. Don't know
DR elmore this should make you happy.

"Sarah Palin's Alaska Not Renewed"
Richard and I have returned from several errands to places that were not close to each other. I wish we'd set the trip meter before we left. We picked up Richard's suit at the dry cleaner and our audio copy of MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL at a branch of my former employer, bought Scotch and soda and delivered it to my mother, and had Skyline chili for dinner. We visited for a while with Mom and would have offered to take her to dinner with us, but it's too cold here for a 92-year-old to be out and about.
The issue for me isn't that Sarah isn't in power, it's that she used targets on her "hit list" and has at the very least (like other candidates) hinted at "second Amendment remedies" for political grievances. I don't think it's any coincidence that several sites are reporting Palin took down the target graphic today, which evidently was still live on some of her internet accounts.
When I was a child, I used to love watching the TV series TOPPER. I thought it was so stylish, and I thought the Kirbys were witty and urbane.
I wonder if I would enjoy it if I watched it again?

Of course you would - especially since several of the scripts were written by someone named Stephen Sondheim.

She didn't have it on her facebook page. That much I know. I don't visit her other sites. All I know is from 25 years of criminal defense experience, you don't know what led this man, who was clearly disturbed, to go on this shooting spree. From the reports, I have heard no mention that the suspects myspace or youtube posts make any mention of Sarah Palin or her list of those they wanted to defeat in the election. I think it's dangerous to immiediately jump to conclusions and blame someone who may or may not have had any influence on the shooter. I'm not saying it's impossible, i'm just saying you don't know and that sort of accusation is just as dangerous as the list itself

I for one would just like to commend Vixmom for having the courage to post here when English is obviously her second language. My question to Vixmom is: what's your first language?
;D ;D ;D
Oh, let's not go to Palin-land. :)
Let's be merry and gay.
Edi, that was a very nice gesture on your part for your family and your step-mom's family.
We're off to see Joan Rivers with the Oregon Symphony. Yes, you read that right.

"Sarah Palin's Alaska Not Renewed"
NEWSFLASH!!!
The eleven point underdog Seattle Seahawks have just defeated last year's Super Bowl champ New Orleans Saints in the opening game of the playoffs, 41 - 36.
DR TCB - I have used the canned Skyline to make topping for coney hot dogs, but I don't think I'd just eat it as chili. If you want the full experience, you should serve it over spaghetti and add cheese and beans and/or onions, as desired. In Cincinnati lingo:
3-way = spaghetti, chili, cheese
4-way bean = spaghetti, chili, beans, cheese
4-way onion = spathetti, chili, onions, cheese
5-way = spaghetti, chili, beans, onions, cheese
Tonight, Richard and I each order 4-way bean with the cheese on the side. It's amazing how little of that cheese you really need.
When I was a child, I used to love watching the TV series TOPPER. I thought it was so stylish, and I thought the Kirbys were witty and urbane.I have a bunch of the episodes on DVD because Sondheim used to write for the show. They are still fairly enjoyable, though some of it is creaky. And there is no consistency in story line from one episode to the next.
I wonder if I would enjoy it if I watched it again?
I am now hungry for skyline chiliMe, too. And I just came home from dinner. A very good dinner.
