I saw Annie 2 twice in its D.C. tryout, and I guess there was a song about Coney Island according to google, but the Coney Island aspect doesn't stick out in my mind as being crucial to the plot.

DR FJL, I saw ANNIE in it's DC tryout.  Maybe we were there at the same time....  ;D

Yesterday was Paul's 60th Birthday.  His family had a family party for him and I had to work as always, but he called about 7:00PM and asked if I wanted to meet him and his cousin for a drink at 9:15 PM then go to SEX AND THE CITY at 9:55 PM.  I normally wouldn't have gone to the late show, but it was his birthday and I really wanted to see it

I enjoyed SHADOW IN THE WINDOW last night, and it was certainly odd to see Betty Garrett in such a role. Phil Carey is certainly quite the hunk in this film, as he is in that Allison Hayes starrer COUNT 3 AND PRAY. I wonder why I have not yet interviewed the man. I must rectify that.

If you do, be sure to ask him about CALAMITY JANE.

It was girls night out for the late show.  We got tickets, but it was a sold out show, so we must have been close to the last people who did.  Anyway, the place was packed with women in short dresses and high heels, many came on a trolley you can reserve like a limo, and I'm guessing more than a few had been tasting a few cosmos

LOVED the movie (I have always loved Sex and the City) and loved the audience reactions too.  There was clapping, cheering, jeering, and one comment I won't say because I don't want to reveal a plot point, but the whole theater burst into laughter.   It was a wonderful experience.

Just received the sad news that one of my recent interviewees, Dorothy Green, passed away on May 8th of a heart attack  :'(

She guest starred in just about every TV show of the 50s and 60s and was featured in many, many films including THE BIG HEAT, THEM, and had the leading lady role in FACE OF A FUGITIVE.

DR Elmore, I agree that although the movie was long, it didn't seem that long and it's no where near as long as some movies these days.  Besides, I've missed the girls, so I was happy to have a bit of an extended visit with them.

Wonder how many busses they'll have to add to the Sex and the City tour.  I haven't taken that one, but it looks like fun.

Oh Dorothy Green was on The Young and the Restless MANY years ago, and was the drunk mother of the rich girl in THE RESTLESS YEARS.....she must have been restless herself......

Cilla, do you mean the ANNIE sequel in D.C.?  I was there on the next-to-last night (when Dorothy Stanley went on for Dorothy Loudon) which was a Friday, and then on the last night when Dorothy Loudon returned for that final performance (that was a Saturday).

I mowed the front and side yard yesterday and nearly got heat stroke again. It's my own fault, I don't stop when I start getting too hot and don't take water with me.

Anyway, I just have the small back yard and 2 pieces of the side yard to do and it's done, so I think I'll get out there.

I have an appt. in 10 minutes, but it's a bit slow this morning.  The weather is lovely, and I guess everyone is doing something else right now.  I know I would be, if I didn't work here.

Saturday is NOT my favorite shopping day.  Mostly we have had people who just want to LOOOOOOK at things this morning.  And in the whole store cannot find ONE thing to buy.

I meant the original ANNIE before it went to Broadway. I was there the night Roslyn Carter went to see it.

So, DR Cillaliz, how 'bout sometime between August 27 and Sept. 1?

I'm seriouisly thinking about it Ginny.   I have to go to Chicago and go to a baseball game with Justice Alito mid August....(ok and the 8th Circuit Judicial Conference - but we do have an event at a White Sox game and tickets to the game and Justice Alito will be there too).  So I have to see how that will work with my schedule.  But if the murder trial goes on July 22, like I think it will, I may need more than one trip out of town in August/Sept.

Is that Labor Day?

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And in this morning's mail... Well, I always find it "interesting" how a payment that I should have received six weeks(!) ago just happens to get processed and mailed out after I send a "reminder" (a few days ago).
