Morning all. It's 8:01 and I have two meetings (along with work that needs to be done) so I'm outta here.

Unfortunately, I can't modify my post from last night. I didn't see Laura's post until this morning and now that yesterday is locked, all chances to modify are gone.

Quite right.  They instead should have shown the "musicians in the put."  ;)

Thanks, DR SINGDAW....I have rehearsals for ALL MY SONS on Monday and Tuesday, but I don't have to deal with FOOTLOOSE again until next Wednesday.

Good morning, all! I was tired and I slept quite late. The weather's cooled down and the humidity appears to have dropped, so I'm rather happy. I may do a week's worth of laundry today, but I have a bit more Brain surgery as well.

Still no word on the Daniel Rodriguez situation, so I'm not thinking the job is going to happen; it's fine, given that I've got 2 charts to finish for Kip Wilborn along with the Brain and Victor Herbert and his shows. The goal for the weekend is to finish up what I can and gear up for estimated IRS payment next weekend, and that leads to a rant: what the hell is going on in the IRS minds? April 15's payment may be complicated as well with other IRS payments, and June 15 is two months later, then September 15 is three months later, and then the January 15 is four months later. hy the hell can't estimated payments be April, July, October and January, every four months? What with the IRS, my health insurance quarterly payment, and the semi-annual life insurance payment I'm up the proverbial fuckin creek!

TOD:
DVD:  Several BBC Shakespeares, Johann strauss' DER ZIGEUNERBARON
CD: Matthew Brookshire, The Brain from Planet X, Offenbach, several New Amsterdam Theatre Company productions
VCR: short films about office life

Speaking of Antonio Carlos Jobim, I can't remember what channel it was on, but a couple of weeks ago, there was a TV special from 1968, "A Man and His Music +Ella +Jobim" starring Frank Sinatra.  I'd heard recordings of Jobim, but I'd never seen him on TV.  It was a very good hour-long concert.  I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Frank's singing on this and both Ella and Jobim were, of course, very good, also. :)

Must have been TCM. May was Frank Sinatra month and in addition to showing his films, they showed some of his prime TV specials from the 1960s and 1970s.

Good morning!

We are definitely into summer now. Temps not getting out of the 90s in the foreseeable future and no rain in the forecast at all, not even a summer thundershower. Hot!

I actually got up this morning and got chores done so early that I had time to watch CLASSE TOUS RISQUES this morning. Excellent character study. A little choppy in the script department but it's so watchable that it doesn't matter.

I had never seen this before, and I'll look forward to watching it again soon.

Of course, there are bonus features I'll be watching this afternoon and evening.

DR elmore - With the high temps forecasted for this weekend, I'd suggest doing your laundry today rather than this weekend. Just an opinion.

How kind of you to credit IRS with minds.

If you'd stop charging clients you could skip all that estimated tax nonsense.

I know. It's a dilemma. If the IRS and my health insurance payments were a month apart and not the same, I wouldn't have so much worry about coughing up $4000 worth of spare change!
