Vibes for the Vixter. Hope she’s not too shaken up by the whole thing.

I did not know until now that Nora Jones is Ravi Shankar’s daughter.

Hmm...neither did I.

I'm watching episode 5, so hopefully, I'll be able to watch the last 10 episodes around rehearsals and ushering this weekend.

George, are you enjoying Discovery?

I'm not disliking it as much as I thought I would.  It's only supposed to be 10 years before the original series (TOS), but it's nothing like the universe that was created in TOS. :-\

Too many things are just wrong, but thinking of it as a complete reboot, or an entirely different science fiction TV series altogether, I can enjoy it on a different level.

Back from perhaps the worst production of South Pacific EVER.  There wasn't a single thing that worked - plus so many dress rehearsal problems, the biggest of which is they open tomorrow night.  The Emile was heart-rendingly wrong and terrible, with his lovely page boy hairdo.  Hard to know what anyone was thinking here.  The Nellie was in the Kelli O'Hara mold, but I didn't really like that mold to begin with - Kelli never seemed like a hick from the stick and this gal was even less of that.  You bought Mary Martin and I don't know if Sandy Duncan ever did it but I sure would have bought her.  This was really from hunger, this was.  A band of fifteen.  Not good.  And a hideous set, mics that didn't work or an operator who couldn't figure out whose mic was supposed to be up.  Nice lighting.

With that outlook maybe I should watch it.  I think I would rather watch THE ORVILLE.

Had decent deli food.  While I was away, the power on the entire block went out because the winds today were ridiculous - I mean, this is not normal.  But everything seems to be working.

The Orville is good, and is very humorous.  At least TOS had moments of humor, but Discovery doesn't at all.  Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but just another reason that it's really different than Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek.
