It's a wet, miserable day in Oakland CA!

Same here, until a few minutes ago.  I should walk before the rain returns.

TOD:

Favorite Movies:
DOUBLE INDEMNITY: excellent story, writing, direction and acting by Stanwyck and MacMurray. I have seen the movie innumerable times and I still enjoy it. It never fails to entertain me.  I introduced one of my student workers to this film and she is now a fan of Miss Stanwyck.

WATER: very spiritual in nature and an Indian film that I greatly enjoy. Surreal in spots

WORST:

TALLEDEGA NIGHTS : my comments on this film would not be permissible on the board

But how much can you tell about any of her films from just the title(s)?

Well, they are currently going through the "physical expression" part of the audition -in other words, no music required. So...

Just a semi-random question...

Just what is it about theatres, hotels and office buildings that make people forget how to count and/or the order of the alphabet?

"I'm looking for room 506."
-Well, this is 505, and 506 is right next door to your left.
"How many doors down is that?"

???

As for saying a "Hail, Mary"... Well, when I was in high school we learned the Our Father, The Hail Mary and a few other prayers in both English and Latin.  The English versions are still pretty much carved in the figurative stone of my brain.  The Latin versions, well... those pretty much went by the wayside after the quiz was done.  ;)

Another sad news report: Ben Chapman, who played THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (in scenes that took place on land) died this morning.

I met him several years ago and he was quite a nice guy...and quite tall, too!

Sad to hear this.  I met him too at Monster Bash.

And there it is....a "plethora of onions" must equate, somehow, with a "murder of crows."

I caught this on TBS (or Universal or HBO???) in HD a couple of weeks ago. I laughed really hard.  I highly recommend it for its parody on NASCAR stereotypes.  None of it is meant to be taken seriously at all.

As long as you will be contented to go into San Francisco, the BART rules.  If you're going to be around for "a while" and have an interest n exploring the East Bay, you'll need wheels.
