ALMONDS AND APRICOTS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both crunchy and chewy, and now it is time for you to post until the crunchy and chewy cows come home.

Just had a lovely e-mail from a nice man who just finished the Kritzer trilogy and really had nice things to say.

Open up my copy "Kritzer Time" to page 317 and, if you look at it in just the right light, you can still see where tears once dotted the page.

Saturday morning greetings!  So what am I doing up at this hour?  My Cleopatra couch was killing my back, so I decided to "get vertical" for a while.  I'd rather be asleep.

Tomorrow is the day of the Tony Awards Show!  That will be fun!  I should print out my ballot and start with my predictions.....even though everything I know about ANY of the shows, I learned here on HHW....for the MOST part.

Tomorrow is also the first round of auditions for SINGING IN THE RAIN, which I will be attending.

I'm caught up, but I have to get to work and don't have time to post.

Hasta.

Good morning, all! I'm having breakfast with Susanna Moross Tarjan, daughter of wonderful composer Jerome Moross, this morning. I haven't seen her in a while, and it will be nice to catch up.

After that, I'm off to Toyland for several projects, and I believe I'll be there most of the day, unless the heat drives me out.

Last night, I really enjoyed La Fille du Regiment, but the end of the opera seemed rather abrupt to me. With its huge "Salute To France" in Act Two, I can see why Lily Pons had such a hit with it at the Met in the 1940s.

When it was over, I began Strauss' Der Zigeunerbaron, which was filmed in Hungary in 1975 and looks glorious. I got as far as the Act One Finale before crashing. I'' watchthe rest tnight.

TOD: cheese? Put it on a cracker and I'll at least taste it.

Lots of Flag Day excitement:  We're spending a few hours with my brother from New Jersey this afternoon, and then tonight is the unofficial All that Chat mini-get-together

Well, just jumped on to get caught up.  Today is the concert for my singing group with JMK as the wonderful director.  He always picks such great pieces for us to sing!  Should be a great concert!  I'm off to shower, practice, and then sing my heart out!  Hope everyone has a great day! :)

Cheese?

What an exciting topic!

I could write for hours on the subject...but I won't.

My favorite cheese?

Swiss.

I know...boring.

Hmmmm....I don't really know from cheeses, but I tend to like the white cheeses best. Swiss, I guess.

DR singdaw - I would have more than happily brought you back a "tester" jar of Duke's next week.  However, I'm guessing that four large jars could also be considered a "tester".  ;)

Good morning!

Another hot day, slated to be in the upper 80s but already feeling like it's going to be hotter than that.

The church across the street began at 7:30 this morning doing car washes for a fund raiser. Children of the folks doing the car wash have lined the streets this morning beating drums and screaming at the tops of their voices to get patrons.

I was already up and reading the newspaper when the screaming started, but I'll bet many of the folks in the condo across the street were mightily irked by all that noise so early on a Saturday morning.

It took them about an hour to run out of vocal steam and stop.

What I watch today and tonight will be determined by what comes in the mail today. My first Deep Discount mega-order should be here today, and if it is, I may enjoy some MURDER SHE WROTE episodes.

If the Criterion review discs come today, I'll likely start on one of them tonight though I won't finish it until tomorrow since it's going to have many bonus supplements.

I have THE UNTOUCHABLES on Blu-ray waiting for viewing, too.
