My Dad just called to ask me to cancel their tickets for Sunday. He just took my
Mom to the doctor's office due to a really bad chest cold. I really hope it's just a chest cold.

It's been a very frustrating day today. Tempers were short, I was testy, I'm feeling very insecure at the moment, and I expect tomorrow will be better. I think we're all feeling the tightness of the schedule, the pressure on the cast in dealing with too little time to learn too much music  many lyrics and chord symbols, and blocking. Everyone's got an "if we only had more time ro deal with . . ." or "will they ever learn that . . ." or "some staging here might help them freeze that . . ." or "if the audience is going to sing along, why did you ask me to write something pretty and choral . . ."

So, it was a very tense afternoon, and the ordeal of getting home because of the absofuckinlutely lousy New York traffic only added to the frustration. I hate getting into a taxi cab where the damned meter is already charging an extra $1.50 for God alone knows what.  And because our pricipal cast member is in a show and has to be out at 1PM, tomorrow's rehearsal begins at 9AM. Goddam!

Oh, yes, I am in a reallly lousy mood. Color me highly pissed.

DR John G - I love the book cover and would like to have that very item for dinner tonight!

I blame DR John G & his beautiful book cover for not having the willpower to pass on the guacamole & fresh chips at the market. :)

Vibes to those who need them.

Ben (the DD) and I slept until 10:30, a much needed rest from the joys of tech week.

Speaking of vibes... the former DP (well, soon to be DP again as we've reconciled but are still living apart) anyway.... the DP just got a job as head Pastry Chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto.  Today he goes in for the offer.  I wish him the best as he deserves this more than you know.  So, vibes for him would be awesome.  This is a great opportunity for him.

So, the now 3 schnauzers in our restarted family are spending the afternoon together.  Otto, who is 5 doesn't really care, Manny who is 2 and intact is keeping close eye on Ben who is 11 months and intact.  So far, all is well.  They are going to have to learn to live with each other eventually.  I'll try to snap a pic.

Have you reconsidered the "intact" part of this equation?

I wish you much happiness now that you are reconciled. :)

The United States is heading toward demise.  My reaction after watching the drawling fool quoted above.  His wife encouraged their son to kill his pet gerbil, violently so (won't get into details).  And he doesn't think she really did anything wrong.  Good Lord.

On the upside she is in jail for her crime, progress!

DR Laura while you have dust we have snow on the mountains.  I guess I shouldn't complain as the sun came out even though it was only 48 degrees this afternoon.

Good morning, all! This was my first mrning I could sleep late and so I did. I think I stumbled out of bed around 7:15. This morning, I guess we finish blocking the show and then deal with the music. The cast has a lot of memorization of text and notes. We've just got our first round of publicity:
http://www.islandpacket.com/2011/11/03/1851169/broadway-veterans-bring-the-sounds.html

So, today and tomorrow we finish up the show here. On Sunday our wonderful stage manager Meg runs the marathon, and on Monday morning I head south. I don't know what the computer situation will be in Hilton Head, so I may be E&T all week.

DR John G, a Betty Buckley album for anything more than a penny is a waste of  money in my book! She's too many of my more unpleasant memories of working with the NYC Gay Men's Chorus. On the other hand, if you like her arrangement of "C'est Magnifique," you probably would have loved the early 1980s disco revival of CAN-CAN, with Zizi Grandmere and choreography by her husband Roland Petit.

TOD: Sorry, no time, not even for the VCR!

Terrific article, elmore!  Even if you can't post from Hilton Head, I will wager that I will still be able to see the glow, even out here in Washington!

DR Jane (or anybody else who watches the MENTALIST, no spoilers).

Did you watch last night's show yet?  You must watch it immediately. So creepy! Excellent!

I think we will be watching it tonight.

I almost missed your post along with a few others.  I'm having "one of those days". ;D

Am judging a chili cook-off this weekend. That should be fun.

John G., do you ever have a chili that you just can't eat?

Here it is. The names will be in reverse order. But I doubt much else will change.

Well, it's time for me to head to the theater for our last weekend of "The Hound of the Baskervilles."  It's been a lot of fun watching the show and running the sound board (especially now that I know what I'm doing ;)).

Until later!

It was rainy here all day, so no jog.  Went to LACC, ate a sandwich and onion rings, picked up one package and no important envelope, went to the editing room where I saw the rough cut of the third and final episode of season one.  I made a few little changes to that - mostly swapping out a take here or there, or making a cut earlier or later, and then replacing a couple of voice-over takes with others.  It's very funny.  We also made a few more tiny fixes to the other two episodes.  We'll do whatever last-minute fine tuning next week and that will be that for season one.
