The Courts show was fascinating - not one person I was really even interested in gawking at, even though the lineup sounded interesting. Chubby Checker looked embalmed, that much I'll say. Stephanie Powers looked fine, Barbara Parkins looked blowsy. The shocker for me was the cuter than cute Miss Kimberly Beck, who I think I worked with in the 70s - she was a doll. Now she's a very heavy doll.
While the celeb portion in recent shows has, for me, not been that hot, the dealer part of the shows has gotten better, so I was able to do a little tradin' today and got some really fun stuff. One LP I got will make me the envy of everyone here - I'll see if I can scan the cover - it's called Love Is A Drag. The cover is a guy in a smoke-filled bar - in the distance, through the smoke you can see - another guy. The songs are all songs with lyrics that are normally sung by women - but on this album a "daring" male vocalist (unnamed) sings them without altering the lyric - My Man, The Boy Next Door, The Man I Love - well, I think you get the idea. My favorite thing on the back of the album is the need to define "drag" as in "bad scene" "hopeless", etc.
