And the word of the day is: OPINE!

George, have you ever eaten at the Budd Bay Cafe?
-
Tonight, my niece wants to go to the Skyline Drive-In (http://www.skylinedrive-in.com) out towards Shelton to see Wonder Woman (http://www.skylinedrive-in.com/nowshowing.html). We went last year and it was the first time she had gone out to a movie in years because of her hyperacusis (http://hyperacusisresearch.org). She can control the volume which is good for her, but it makes for a too quiet movie watching experience for me. Oh, well, at least I've seen the movie. Last year, we saw Finding Dori and Ghostbusters. I hadn't seen either.
-
George, have you ever eaten at the Budd Bay Cafe?
I have. I've enjoyed it. For several years, my family went there for New Year's Eve.
-
We'd usually have dinner at 5:00 or 6:00 and be home long before midnight.

Thank you.

Does your question mean that you're going?
-
Yes, on Friday for lunch. I just hope I can find it.

*Memorable Quotes: "I'm not an actor, I'm a movie star!"
[Alan Swann has blundered into the wrong restroom]
Lil: This is for ladies only!
Alan Swann: [unzipping fly] So is *this*, ma'am, but every now and then I have to run a little water through it.
[an obviously drunken Swann meets the writing staff]
Sy: He's plastered!
Alan Swann: So are some of the finest erections in Europe.
Alan Swann: We'll be two for dinner. Telephone the Stork Club.
Alfi: You sure you mean the Stork Club, Mr. Swann?
Alan Swann: Certainly. It's been a year and a half. Surely they've repaired the wall of the bandstand by now.

This got lost last night, so asking here -
Does anyone know - Is there any easy way to share a video from itunes to YouTube?

After a tiring day, a commuter settled down in his seat and closed his eyes.
As the train rolled out of the station, the young woman sitting next to him pulled
out her cell phone and started talking in a loud voice:
"Hi sweetheart. It's Sue. I'm on the train".
"Yes, I know it's the six thirty and not the four thirty, but I had a long meeting".
"No, honey, not with that Kevin from the accounting office. It was with the boss".
"No sweetheart, you're the only one in my life".
"Yes, I'm sure, cross my heart!"
Fifteen minutes later, she was still talking loudly.
When the man sitting next to her had enough, he leaned over and said into the phone,
"Sue, hang up the phone and come back to bed."
Sue doesn't use her cell phone in public any longer.

My prescriptions are taken care of, and that's now off my back. Time to deal with breakfast.

Good morning, all.

Very busy day ahead. Two, actually.
Okay, make that four. There'll be no rest for this wicked until Monday morning.
-
A lovely tale, DR Elmore!
-
A lovely tale, DR Elmore!
It made me laugh. I really detest folk who use their cell phones noisily in public.
Yesterday after a lousy bus ride, I formed a new detestation: parents who refuse to discipline their children and allow them to treat a packed bus as their personal jungle gym. I wanted that child and her mother to be under the bus.

I wonder if DR Jrand66 can tell us if there's any special disturbance in the heavens this past week or so. Various friends are experiencing all manner of mishaps, and even my own adventures have been complicated in ridiculous ways.
Yesterday, two friends a few hundred miles apart from each other totaled their cars (fortunately, no personal harm).
Also yesterday, the local theater got declined on three (count em) play requests for next season due to regional conflicts, and they were already trying to come up with a replacement for a fourth -- that's four out of five productions.
And so it goes...
-
Maybe I mentioned this, but my friend Kristi had been running to doctors and the ER with odd pains and nausea over the past couple of weeks. Every time someone thought they'd found the cause, the "solution" lasted but a day. Finally, a CT-scan revealed a cyst on an ovary, and, long story short, they went in to remove it yesterday and check everything else out. The surgeon said it was a large "free floating" fibroid which itself had grown a cyst, and it had been pushing against everything. He just lifted it right out of her. She has to heal from the surgery, but already feels like a million dollars.
-
Good for your friend and her doctor, ChasSmith. Vibes for a quick recovery.

Thought of you this morning, Fred. Heard Blossom Dearie sing an old DeSylva, Brown and Henderson tune called Tweet, Tweet that's ripe for mocking. Sadly, no one knows the song.

Given all the bad news and needed vibes on HHW, this is a nice change.

No help from me DR FJL....sorry....I do not use the iTunes.

DR CHAS SMITH the Mercury Retrograde and eclipse are wreaking havoc....things should get better but not until around September 4 or 5th.

Same here, and I don't (yet?) use iTunes myself, either. I know so little about it, and the things it does, that I can just say I know NOTHING about it and come out more truthful.

Boy, don't I know it. We had a pretty good idea yesterday that it would have an uneventful outcome, but man, as soon as you hear "she just went into surgery"... wow. And the relief an hour later is a godsend.

Thank you, DR Jrand66. I did wonder if the eclipse had much of a bearing on this stuff.
But DAMN. I want it NOW. :)
-
No help from me DR FJL....sorry....I do not use the iTunes.
Right. I guess that when I eventually acquire a Mac, that will have to change. For now, I bask in my ignorance.
-
That's one of the problems with a mac; it's harder to find clear help online with what seem like they should be simple, direct functions.

Healing vibes for Kristi!

I'm up, I'm up - forgot to set the alarm - slept about nine and a half hours, which I needed, but I seem to have missed the morning and thirty minutes of the afternoon.

Fred, I would assume that if it's not copy guarded, you should just be able to upload it like a regular video (assuming that you haven't tried that yet and it didn't work, but you just wanted to know if it was a different process). I've uploaded a few video clips, but nothing from iTunes. I would hope/think that it's that easy. :-\

It must be contagious...it looks like Theater Artists Olympia will no longer be able to rent The Midnight Sun. We had to cancel a show for September (the director had to go out of town due to a family emergency and no one was able to take over), and now we don't have enough money, or a way to get enough money, for the rest of the year. :(

We're going to send a letter to the owner to see if she'll work with us, so there's a tiny sliver of a glimmer of hope...but not very much.

ChasSmith, why don't you suggest to the local theater that they do The Brain from Planet X - they won't get turned down :)

Believe me, I want to do it. I've mentioned it to the person I feel should direct it, and he's interested, but not for this theater or time slot. They just finished a reasonably successful run of Zombie Prom, and he felt it might be in too similar a vein to propose there just now.

I am lucky my father did not think it was healthy to fast, so we did not. We ate lightly instead.
-
Except it's MUCH better than Zombie Prom.
-
I'm a little more than halfway through the liner notes - they're long, but then again it's three movies to talk about.
-
I'm already exhausted. Need a bit of a break and I am damn well taking one.
-
Except it's MUCH better than Zombie Prom.
I was totally bored with Zombie Prom. I sat through it out a sense of duty to friends, said hi and "congratulations", and got my ass the hell out of there.
-
Very funny stuff, Fred.
-
Yom Kippur this year is the day after my birthday. Is that intentional?
-
Very worried for the folks back in San Antonio and friends along the coast as Harvey approaches.
-
Harvey is threatening to become a category 4 hurricane at some point, according to some forecasters
-
I will be driving back during it
-
Not my idea of fun, especially after the rain I drove through to get to Louisville
-
Druxy, I hope you're okay in Austin.
-

So far. So good.
You?

-
And now, I must be off. I'm taking my niece to see "Wonder Woman" at the local drive-in. I've seen it before, so I'm not too concerned about seeing it while being distracted by everything that happens at a drive-in.
Be back later.
-
Good night, all.
-
I'm so tired of writing these liner notes - it's literally been all day and most of the evening and I'm STILL not through with the last film - once I finish that, then I just do a wrap-up paragraph, which is easy. Of course, I could just do what the fans like - track by track where I tell you what you're hearing. Why people enjoy hearing, "The fluttery flutes enter, followed by a blaring trumpet, while the french horns prance merrily around the oboes" and then they get to use all the words they know from reading articles - "otinato" that's one of their favorites - I mean, honestly, who gives a crap.
-
Good evening!
-
Page 4? Really?
-
When I got up this morning it was overcast.
-
Not only overcast, it was windy and cold
-
I was supposed to go to lunch with a friend.
-
Liner notes finally finished. Whew! Obviously there was no time to even think about the commentary, so that will have to happen tomorrow. Tonight I am written out.
-
I sat at my desk and drank a cup of coffee.
-
The longer I sat there, the worse I felt.
-
Finally I texted my friend and postponed lunch to a different day.
-
Then I went back to bed.
-
One more post.
-
Page 5
-
By the time I got into bed, I couldn't get warm.
-
I shivered under the covers for almost an hour before I fell asleep.
-
I slept until 12:30.
-
By the time I got up the sun had come out and it was warm.
-
And I lived happily ever after. Well, so far.
-
Recovery vibes to Kristi.
-
Great parody, Fred.
-
Loved the story, elmore.
-
Continued health vibes to Jrand66.
-
I watched FUNNY GIRL today on HULU.
-
It was nice that it came with the Overture and the Intermission.
-
Tomorrow I am going to lunch in Olympia.
-
This is a continuation of my birthday celebration.
-
I still haven't had any birthday cake.
-
Maybe I need to buy a cupcake, or something.
-
Maybe a cheesecake.
-
I will be putting up a big list of CDs and Blu-rays I want to get rid of - stuff I won't watch again, CDs I inadvertently got two copies of or that I have too many performances of - I'll start the list after the notes go up - I'm still rummaging through the Blu-ray closet.
-
That might be worth staying up for.
