Oh, The Unsinkable Molly Brown - done in by Miss Reynolds - at least for me.  She's so annoying and "FEISTY" and then cloying - none of which Miss Tammy Grimes was in the show.

Oh, At Long Last Love - another one of those imdb wonders where people shout "LOST MASTERPIECE".

It should only remain lost - it was unwatchable when it came out, and it's unwatchable now (literally, since it isn't available on home video).

Just got all the info regarding NYMF, so that's a good sign.  There's so much stuff - I really need to hire immediately a line producer/general manager to deal with it, as it make my head want to explode.

Baz Luhrmann directed the film "Strictly Ballroom", Amy.  It's one of his "red curtain" films along with "Romeo and Juliet" and "Moulin Rouge."

Right, I know. DR Elmore was correcting me when I said I didn't like the stage play of MOULIN ROUGE, when I really meant to say LA BOHEME.

I DO like STRICTLY BALLROOM, though.

It's funny about the film of Godspell - I went to a matinee showing in Westwood when we were in rehearsals for Forget-Me-Not Lane at the Taper.  I had a Sunday off, or maybe I had a late call mid-week.  For some reason I really enjoyed it and found it quite entertaining and liked the location filming.

I felt the same about GODSPELL and SONG OF NORWAY.

I never liked the movie version of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, although the recent British production is fun in an over-the-top way.

I'm having trouble with the last question of the Unseemly Trivia Contest.

I have no clue about any of the answers.

"My Conviction"

Ah. I thought that was usually sung by male actor.

I forgot that it wasn't in the movie. I like that song.

That film with Susan Sarandon and Burt Lancaster, screenplay by John Guare, called ATLANTIC CITY!

LOL, Elmore!

I couldn't get through "The Wiz" but then I disliked it on stage.
I enjoyed "RENT" better as a film - maybe because I could control the volume.

Oh, Doctor Dolittle - awful, terrible, some nice songs, but as a viewing experience - excruciating.

That was one I loved when I was in HS. And I still love the music. I'd like to see it again...could be another SONG OF NORWAY!

The film I found excruciating---although I guess it technically was a musical, it doesn't deserve to be called one:

Woody Allen's EVERYONE SAYS I LOVE YOU. He has no sense of how to film a musical. Ack.

Let us hope he does better with staging an opera.

NEWSIES, yes! Christian Bale and Bill Pullman, love them both.

How about Christian Bale in SWING KIDS? There's a guilty pleasure! "Swing Heil!". But it does have some good dancing numbers...

It would HAVE to be better!

(I hope there aren't any fans of this film. I like the actors and the songs chosen, but....)

We'll be doing at least two numbers from Newsies in our fundraiser show, which, in case I haven't mentioned it, is an evening of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz songs.

Will I be able to hold out, eating-wise, until the LACC meeting and, if so, will I like anything they're serving for dinner?
