Look, this is new and improved software - yes, it changes some things and the look, and no, Bakalor won't go in and restore links to the notes and the radio show because he is just not doing that anymore - hopefully we'll get the Calendar and the Who's Online buttons back, as that's in preferences somewhere in the control panel, but if you see things in e-mail (a function I don't even know about on this site) or where your PMs, are, take a deep breath and just get used to the new deal, because there's no going back.  It happens whenever ANY site upgrades their software - Facebook just became the "new" Facebook - people hate it, violently, but they're not changing it back and everyone is just getting used to it in its new form.

Bruce, I think you should trust yourself more and go in and change this stuff yourself.  It's not rocket science--I have message boards and forums (fora?) on my site and most of the Admin stuff is easy-peasy, most of it is simply checking off option boxes.

BTW, the annoying "LOADING" error is still popping up when you try to quote when you have the Quick Reply box up.  That would be my first request to get fixed.

Hmm... I get the "LOADING" message... But it's not an "error".  ???

Well I believe it is indeed an error, for two reasons--you need to then scroll back up to whatever message you're quoting and hit quote a second time, and then when you hit "post" you get a red error message.  So, yes, it is an error.

Becki Newton had the best line on Ugly Betty tonight:

Singing:
Hush, little homo, don't you cry,
Mama's gonna steal you a Prada tie
...

Oh, c'mon, that's so not a real spoiler!

Oh, before I forget:

Dinner was smoked beef sausage, baked in the oven with sauerkraut and apples, and roasted potatoes.

It was nicely satisfying.

Oh... I must not be getting that "error" at all then.  I get the green LOADING message, but I do not have to hit Post twice when using the Quick Reply box - after clicking Quote.  Hmm...

DR JMK - Under Profile->Look and Layout Preferences, have you checked off "Don't warn on new replies made while posting."?

JMK, if you'd like to go in and futz with settings I can arrange it.  As long as you don't hurt anything. :)

I get no error messages.  I've been using the quick reply box, and I've also used quote and it just posts fine.

I see dear reader Laura, who should log out as Laura and back in as Dear Reader Laura.  And who is "mattie"?

Mattie is *I*. However, once I caught up on all the messages, I logged out on the new name and went back to the old name.

I finished watching all of the bonus features on the LE DOULOS DVD. They're OK. More surprised that there was only a leaflet in the case rather than a full booklet. Criterion used to do leaflets like this, and maybe they're returning to this now. I have another Melville disc here that I'll get to in a day or two.

Next I watched CHARLIE CHAN IN PANAMA. I had seen it before, and I rememebred it distinctly since I remember that I got the identity of the murderer right the first time I saw this off the Fox Movie Channel. So, I was able to keep an eye on this character to see what was being done. The transfer looks very nice.

I love Melville films - I've never seen the other release you have - and can't wait to get it in my hot little hands.

Next, I watched tonight's UGLY BETTY. Looks like things are getting back to normal at MODE.

The scene where Marc and Amanda were fawning over Eddie Cibrian had me laughing, but I didn't blame either of them for a second. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm!

And I ended the evening watching tonight's SUPERNATURAL, an outstanding and moving BACK TO THE FUTURE-styled episode that was mesmerizing.

Well... I have a long day of auditions tomorrow, and since I've been in "nightowl" mode lately, I need to make sure I get a full eight hours of sleep tonight somehow or another. ???

So...

Goodnight.
