DR Cillaliz - Gabe is a doll and GGMa looks very proud!

Thanks! He is a sweetie. Mom kept saying..."Oh, I'll take him!"  It's cute to see her so excited about it.

Must we ALL dream of DR TCB?

No, only you.  He's YOUR dream lover.

I got home and realized I did not have my cell phone. It was nowhere to be found.  I called Mom and she found it out in their driveway. She offered to send it, but I told her I can live without it until Thursday.

This afternoon Richard gathered up 3 more bags of leaves.  They're still there, but I wonder if they will be in the morning.

"The White Cliffs of Dover" is recording right now.  I finished up "Green Mansions" half an hour ago.  That leaves "The Narrow Margin" which I don't think I'm going to record.  But I'll watch it.

I wish I had seen this earlier today, now I want to watch "White Cliffs".  I miss TIVO which had something called "wishlist".  It was simple to find.  I keep forgetting how to record a show that isn't in the current listings.  The little booklet I have doesn't tell me.

When I was in high school it was suggested I read GREEN MANSIONS as I was very much like the girl in it.  As much as I love Audry Hepburn I was disappointed in the film.

MR BK - I think the fact that Mr Robert Keith is the father of Mr Brian Keith has been mentioned a few times here at HHW....though you may not know also that Mr Robert Keith was married for a short time to Ms Peg Entwhistle.....the HollywoodLand sign swan dive gal!

IMBD says they dated but never married. ???

The book signing went very well---sold every book the store had in stock and fortunately Danny had another box in his car. He read the book out loud and then asked trivia questions. Every kid who won a question got a free ice cream cone. So there were lots of happy kids; a very nice sized-crowd!

Afterwards, we all went out to dinner so I got to spend some QT with my godson, Quinn. Yay!

CUTE! Glad the signing, and your day (except for the scary excitement), went well. :)

Wasn't Veal Prince Orloff a Sue Ann Nivens dish on the Mary Tyler Moore Show?

It certainly was in one of the funniest and most memorable episodes in the seven year history of THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW.

Speaking of "Dream Lover," I don't think of Bobby Darin when I hear that song title. I think of Jeanette MacDonald who sang it in THE LOVE PARADE.

And speaking of THE LOVE PARADE, I guess some of you have read that Criterion's Eclipse series is coming out with four early Ernst Lubitsch movies in February including THE LOVE PARADE, THE SMILING LIEUTENANT, and MONTE CARLO. I am SO excited to get these movies on DVD.

I thoroughly enjoyed THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. I had no idea it was going to be this funny. Really funny from beginning to end.

Nancy Opel was indeed the title character, and she sang grandly. In fact, everyone had big voices and sang to perfection. I loved most of the numbers, but being a tap dance kid myself, naturally I loved "Cold Feets." And Janet's "Show Off" was great fun. "Message from a Nightingale" had me in stitches.

"Whhhhaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttt?" Hysterical.

When I got in, I didn't have enough time to watch tonight's DEXTER, so I put in THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, skipped to about the midway point (right before she gets the Harry Potter book) and watched until I was ready to get on-line. Never tire of that movie.

Oh, back to DROWSY CHAPERONE a second. When it was over, I waited in the lobby to say hello to some friends who were there. One of them asked me, "Say, how did you like seeing yourself on the stage, you know, the man in the chair."

I guess maybe I AM that guy.  ;D

I stand corrected, DRJANE.  That entry has been updated since I last read it....someone must have come up with new facts.  Interesting.  Thanks for setting me straight about it.  ;D

Apparently, the strike is not ending tomorrow.  They are not going the way of the AFM strike.  And both sides will be blaming the other, but if I had to choose, just based on posts I've read on the chat boards, my guess would be that Local One did the walking out.

I just finished watching a grand piece of movie entertainment entitled GRAND PRIX, directed by John Frankenheimer.  Not much on plot, great cast, terrific Maurice Jarre score, but it's those racing sequences that really rock!
Anybody have any favorite "car" movies?
I would say:

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
LE MANS
GRAND PRIX
CARS
DUEL

Wow. Not only is the strike not ending but all performances for the next week have been cancelled at the theaters involved. Lots of innocents getting hurt in this strike. Wonder how many shows will close because of it.

Looks like it was the producers who walked out. http://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=22912
