Well, I only got a bit more than six hour of sleep last night, so I'm going to turn it a bit earlier tonight.
I was supposed to attend a Meet the Grantmakers panel sometime during this year as one of my "career development" goals (it's performance evaluation time) but due to "pressing deadlines and other work projects I was not able to complete this goal" I would love to come to Ohio and attend one that you're hosting :D
Memories: I remember the first post from DR François!
(I wonder if anyone else would remember why!).
And of course if it weren't for HHW I would never have developed such anobsessionappreciation of Bollywood movies (thanks BK and JRand55, for that!).
TAR - great fun last night. Down to four teams. I have a favorite, but it's a secret.
As for tonight's casualty on LOST, as long as it's not Jack, Sawyer, or Locke, I could live with just about anyone else. I'd hate to lose Charlie or Hurley or Jen or Sun or Kate, but I could if I HAD to. But not those three lead men. They add too much to the show.
Bad bad business, DR MATTH - I feel your pain.
Oh, no, I would never want to know ahead of time. Sawyer has a wound that is getting worse (according to the episode desctiption in TV GUIDE), but I tend to think that's misleading and that the victim will be someone else.

BK himself invited me here in a very nice email lo, those many years ago. When we switched to the new board, I was surprised that 40 people beat me to the punch. ;)
Maybe someday I 'll even learn how to typ e from all the practice I get here!
OH! So that's their[/b] fault!
;D
Thanks to one and all and also all and one for all the wonderful vibes yesterday. Today I'm feeling slightly more like myself, thank goodness. I'm definitely not at 100%, but I think I can manage to make it through work...god bless Ibuprofen.
Who here has had a cheese slice or a ham chunk? Or, for that matter, a potato pancake?

It's not only women who swoon over Sawyer! ;D
DR DtM - that Connie Stevens Forever Young Time Machine and lotion has taken years off your face...YEARS!!! Did you get it on QVC?
I've heard stories that the entire cast of LOST goes skinny dipping during breaks. Must be quite a sight, indeed.
We'r e no t goin g t o ge t ou r hope s TO O hig h....
:D
Ginny re avatars... I have a wonderful pictuer of youfrom the food tour , it was of you and the Vixter but could be cropped and reduced to just you I think... I'll try and do that tonight (its on the home computer) and email it to you.
I keep saying the samne thing, DRvixmom, but I kjnow pigs will fly first!
Yep--I sprung for the two litre bottle that comes with its own applicator.
How do you like the sweater vest? It's from the Mark Linn-Baker Signature Collection.
Just got a "digital tear sheet" for wonderful reviews of the Harvey Schmidt CD and my very own Stages/Together Again CD - his review of the latter actually took me aback, so lovely was it.Wow! Fantastick, Dear Friend!

DR vixmom - I wonder if it's the same photo I'm thinking of? Please do send it to me, thanks!

And it's just been announced that Tony winner (and frequent guest star of "Desperate Housewives") Harriet [Sansom] Harris will be playing Vera Charles opposite Ms. Christine Baranski in the Kennedy Center's production of MAME.
Staples needs two hours to Xerox the music, mostly because of the length of elmore's chart for my song What Do I Do Now - I'm Xeroxing the entire orchestration, because we'll be putting some of it on the second keyboard.
This morning I went for a walk and saw something exciting. Folks are coming 100 miles to see this bird in Arizona. Here is a very bad picture (it was really out of range for my little camera):
what is it?

I'd like to request a favor from anyone who has DVR or some sort of reliable recording device...
Could someone please record for me the Nov. 11 episode of Oprah, which will feature performances from THE COLOR PURPLE? I'll pay for the tape and the shipping to have it sent to me.
Thanks!!!
Any "Desperate Housewives"/Broadway enthusiasts should research the episode titles for the show.

Here are a few:
"Children Will Listen"
"Sunday in the Park With George"
"You'll Never Get Away From Me"
"Every Day A Little Death"
"The Ladies Who Lunch"
"Your Fault"
"(Fear) No More"
Somebody's a Sondheim fan...
LOL...MattH, I suppose I could stomach a DVD over a videotape. If you could do that for me, I'd be eternally grateful!
It is a groove-billed ani, very rare to Arizona, more common on the gulf in Texas and Mexico. Here is a professional picture:
"Commander in Chief" was pretty good last night, too.
I'm not quite sure how long they can sustain this scenario of Donald Sutherland vs. Geena Davis and the weekly one upsmanship each pulls over the other.
Sometimes, it gets to be a bit much. And then something unexpected and quite wonderful happens.
Next week's show should be fun...Geena apparently gets some "leverage"!
I think I will probably watch LOST live if i can get home by 9pm. Then tomorrow i will check the internet, as i'm very curious what these spoilers are all about (how accurate they are).
And yep, I will definitely watch before reading here tonight!
Has the gay character been introduced yet? Supposedly, there is to be one joining (or being revealed on) the show.

I haven't read a thing about "Lost" being "live" tonight.
Frankly, I don't see how they could possible do a live episode.
?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ??
BTW everyone who was on Jose's Patented Food Tour, the Vixter talks about it quite often and remarks how nice it was that a bunch of grownups treated her (and I quote) : "just like I was a person too, not just someone's kid!"

Happy Annivarsary, BK and HHW!
Lo and behold, a few days later I got Bruce's very amusing questions which I tried to answer in the same attitude and style and subsequently wound up with the interview of mine I enjoy the most.
"ani" -- a crossword "solution" to the clue "cuckoo."
FJL, good news about Starfighter. I received my CD and have it waiting in my car for me. Now I just need a reason to take a drive.
Thanks for the info, DR Ron. Is this aide a recurring character or is he a regular (i.e. do we see him every week and does he figure into any plotlines in a significent way)?
If you haven't already, everyone needs to click HERE!! (http://www.haineshisway.com/archives/00000002.html) ;D
Thanks for finding that first day of posting DR George...and what became of all those people who posted way back then??? Of course Elan and JMK are still around, and WEL...but what about Rebecca, Stacie Jo, David, Ryan, and other names that don't ring a bell?
Jane - If you listen to the Starfighter CD in your car, be warned: You just may have the sensation of your car levitating halfway through Track #6.
If that doesn't get you to your car to listen, well, then I give up. (I did say "may" though - that's not a money back guarantee.)
:)
Hi all! Remember me?
It seems I picked a good day to return with deep apologies for being E & T.
Many, Many, Many (that’s 3 manys!) Congrats to Bruce, Mr. Haines and the site!
I’m not 100% sure when I started posting. I know it was around the time Juliana’s journal was being posted about on another board. There was reference to another site so I believe I Googled something and somehow came up with the HHW. I remember it was the old version of the site.
I also remember that I lurked for a good long time but liked what I read. There just didn’t seem to be the fighting and flaming that goes on so many boards both then and now. Then, one night someone was talking about Errol Flynn films. Since Errol Flynn is a particular favorite of mine and I had never seen him discussed anywhere else, I decided to join the group. I received a very warm welcome.
I also seem to remember DR Jane (I think it was Jane) was going in for a Cat scan and was a little concerned about it. I had just had one the week before and I wanted to tell her that it wasn’t that bad.
DR Elmore was the first person I met, live and in person, from the HHW board. He made my first trip to NY. I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for him, I may never have gone back.
When the gathering in March of this year came up, I was a wee bit hesitate but oh, was I glad that I went! When the “Girls Night Out with The Guys” for October came up, I knew I was there!
I’ve met some truly wonderful people and hope that I will be able to meet more of you next year! :)
Jane-
15 pounds, as of Tuesday. :)
DRDanise is back! Hooray!
DR Jane, I'm sorry that it was an unpleasant experience. For me, the hardest part was keeping my hands over my head. I think I had an IV of some type. Can't remember now.
He DR DANISE!
The celebrating continues!
Thanks for the link to the FIRST column, DR GEORGE.
I can't rightly remember what year I started posting on this site..I think 2000 maybe.
Jose, I hope you don't have to deal with that woman again-good news on the check.
Re: tonight's LOST (no spoilers).
Really good ending!
This morning I read this very touching story about POTO star Anne Runolfsson running the NYC marathon:
http://www.broadway.com/gen/Buzz_Story.aspx?ci=520951
Joy what about a classic, and our favorite movie, CASABLANCA?
I’m trying to get into my NetFlix queue for some suggestions.
During LOST there was a promo for tomorrow's GOOD MORNING AMERICA which will feature a "Secret Scene" from tonight's episode. Maybe it's a scene with Jack and Kate--where were they tonight?
Didn't you see Jack pass Shannon and her stepmother in the hallway at the hospital in the flashback scene?
for fun:

MBArnum Every time I refresh this page, it's a different cat in the sink in your post! LOL. That's pretty wild!
