I have mentioned this before (what else is new?), but I grew up with and went to school with Robert Peterson's son.  Peterson was Goulet's understudy during the entire run of CAMELOT and actually played more performances than Goulet.  He later played Arthur at Pioneer Memorial Theater in SLC when I was a kid.  That was my first time seeing the stage musical.  I thought Act I would never end.  :)  IIRC, Act I ran for almost 2 hours, and Act II was another 90 minutes.  Tooooo long, IMHO.

Very true, JMK.  Even with quality actors the show just goes on and on.  And sitting thru community theater performances of CAMELOT can be a complete nightmare.

I never answered my own T.O.D. topics.

Worst Paul Newman film of all-time - RALLY ROUND THE FLAG, BOYS

The film that everyone loves and that I hate - (not much of a secret) GONE WITH THE WIND

I think I'm quite hungry now.  I shall get in the motor car and traverse the neighborhood and go wherever my taste buds tell me to go - it may be a restaurant or it may be Gelson's.  Or it may be a fast food jernt to bring something home.

Sunday afternoon greetings!

Heard about some bad tornadoes in Ohio. Hope Dear Ginny and Richard (and affiliated family) are OK.

Yes, DR Ben, we're fine - thanks for asking.  Last night's storms, as DR JRand mentioned, were up north.  The Lima folks said they had watches and warnings and DS Rob called from Michigan to say that they'd had tornado warnings but were OK.  Hope it didn't put too much of a damper on the graduation party.  We expect him home this evening, so guess we'll hear all about it.

We are always doing "our favorite this" or "our favorte that"; so today why not try something else?

What film does the world consider to be an all-time classic; that you secretly have always hated?

An American in Paris.

Rocky.

Forrest Gump.

Matt H. is no longer here so I can say this (although I know other people on this board love the movie as well)

Lord of the Rings.

I don't know enough Paul Newman films to say which one is the worst. I've seen Paul Newman films just not a lot of them

RALLY ROUND THE FLAG. BOYS! was one of my favorite Max Shulman books.....and the movie....well Joanne Woodward doing comedy is painful to see sometimes......

I would still love to see a movie version of Shulman's ANYBODY GOT A MATCH? a satire of advertising, television, government, and smoking.

I started watching FUNNY GIRL on TCM and decided I would rather watch HELLO, DOLLY and then realized it's down at the theatre in the lobby display.....so no HELLO DOLLY for me tonight.

Watching Funny Girl on TCM.  So neat---my friend (who takes pictures of locations where Streisand movies were filmed) and I were recently at the old train station in New Jersey where the lead-up to " Don't Rain on My Parade" takes place.

I liked a lot of SATC 2, although three plot points in the Middle East really bothered me for being out of character and a lot of nonsense that could have been cut. I do think that DR MBarnum should see it for his paper on the influence of Bollywood on the American film, since this is the first movie I've seen that reminded me again and agan of a Bollywood comedy, from the length to the production numbers.

Back from a sandwich and fries - just didn't feel like driving aimlessly to find something new - Hugo's had a wait (at two-thirty) so I just moseyed on over to Jerry's Deli, where they take care of me really well.

I'm curious how many minutes of previews you guys have before movies.

Here they show commercials. Then previews. Then the movie.

But when i went to SATC2 the movie did not come on for 20 minutes. Who wants to sit thru 20 minutes of commercials and then previews.

I am good for 3 previews. But I hate to have to sit for 20 minutes. I'd rather they played the commercials BEFORE the start time.
It has been awhile since I've gone to a movie.  Can't swear to it, but it sure felt like twenty minutes of commercials and previews before the movie began. :(

DR Jane, i just found the most interesting tv related column at tvguide.ca. You can ask questions re: tv programming in canada. And since it is quite difficult to find out information (about when certain shows are airing). I think it is easier for her to find out.

She was the one who said Royal Pains was supposed to start here last friday. But it was not on the schedule. And their website only updates things per week. So she contacted them. And they said that season 2 will air they are just not sure exactly when (it will be this summer).

I hope this will be more helpful for you in the future.  I must of missed something, you didn't get Royal Pains at all?  I thought you simply hadn't watched it yet.

LOL-No talking over your bodies & threatening you?  When you asked if your seats will be the same next season did you find out if theirs will be different?

Sherlock has been bathed, the 2nd load of towels are in the wash, and the shower has been scrubbed.  I can't think of another place to clean in the kitchen, now to work on my bathroom.

They talked over us and passed candy in front of us. But she remembered me this time and didn't ask us to change seats.

Did they say excuse me?  Did they offer you any candy?  I bet not.

Does it take two loads of towels to dry Sherlock?

We used six towels, three on the floor, two to partially dry him, & one I hung on the towel rack to absorb some of the water when he shakes.  I then use the hanging towel to wipe the walls down.  Keith takes Sherlock outside & blasts him with a professional dog blower that blows most of the water out of him.
