DR Elmore, how is your cramped up leg?

Much better, thank you.  I did miss DR Jose's partay, though, and I didn't get to have a little Mikey nap.  I did finish another chart.  Two to go!

I call it "gently harassed" ...  :-*

From today's NY Times, The Outer Limits comes to DVD.

I must have time travelled in my sleep--I've had the Outer Limits on DVD for years.

I am back from:

1) Our semi-annual trip to Sam's Club,
2) Graeter's, where we celebrated National Ice Cream Day,
3) My mom's home at the retirement community, where we delivered the items she asked us to purchase for her at Sam's, and
4) Watching all of the series premiere of Side Order of Life and half of same for State of Mind, both on Lifetime.  Neither, I think, is worth planning my Sunday evenings around.

Last night (it wasn't planned) I went to see the new Die Hard. I highly recommend it. It was exciting, literally on the edge of your seat action/adventure/thriller. Even if the plot and some of the stunts were over the top; who cares. I really got my money's worth. of all the films I have seen so far this summer season this was the best.

Better than Harry Potter, Transformers, Ratatouille and whatever else I've seen.

You left out funny.  Some of those over the top stunts were fantastic.

We went this afternoon to the 12:50 show which didn't begin until 1:15.  I don't know what the problem was, but it appeared the film had unraveled & it took awhile to figure out how to get it back onto the modern day projector (which looked like a big old fashioned camera with a rolling clothesline behind it).

DR Cillaliz - to answer your question from last night, no, I didn't hear Garrison Keillor speak at ALA.  That morning I had a 3-hour meeting at the Foundation Center-Washington.  I did get a report on his speech from author Susan Vreeland, who we met before her program that evening at Chapters:  A Literary Bookstore.  She was so enthused that she read me all the notes she'd taken at GK's presentation.  I'll check the C-Span website to see if they have the program archived there.

What is a Mikey nap ... or are we better off not knowing?

It's a little nap during the day.  Mikey's seem to last for hours.

Well... I think she did "wish" that 50 people were coming.  Or at least 20 people with MAJOR appetites.  The skirt steak with chimichurri sauce is gone - and was quite good - but there's a tray of cooked hamburgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob waiting to be consumed.  And from what I could tell, only ONE of the six bags of potato chips has been opened, and there's even at least two cases worth of beer still in the coolers.  -Of course, some of her friends brought their own libations, and some even bought their own food for the grill - more hamburgers and hotdogs, but these ones are organic.  -Although, I believe the ones that my roomie got from Fresh Direct were organic also.  Ah, well.

-I suspect the fridge will end up fuller than it was when the party started.  And I also suspect that a bunch of food will be going to waste, and/or will still be in the fridge when I get back from Virginia on Friday.

She should freeze the hamburgers and hot dogs.

From today's NY Times, The Outer Limits comes to DVD.

I thought it already was out on DVD. I've seen it on Amazon because last year I was looking for my favorite episode: "Don't Open Until Doomsday".

Today was the annual theater awards dinner for our city's largest and oldest (The oldest continuing operating community theater west of the Mississippi) theater group.  Actually, this was the awards presentation for the past two seasons, since last year's awards were skipped due to upheavals in the Artistic Directorship last summer.

I did not attend the dinner today, because I was not invited - even though I am a nominee.  After over 50 years with this theater group, my name has apparently been dropped from the mailing lists due to a personal falling out that I had last year with the man who is the new Artistic Director.

I spent lots of time watering the yard today (my system doesn't work, so I stood out there and watered it with the hose)  So, hopefully we'll get some rain from the unpredicted thunderstorns. Right now they are North and South of us.  We have only had .02 of an inch of rain so far this month and July was dry too. We REALLY need rain
