For the most part, no matter what they are doing, the students think because they are in the crosswalk they are safe.

We have solved that problem down here in Southern Delaware - no highway cross walks! (And no pedestrian walk lights.) If you are one one side of the six lane highway (the only road through the area) and wish to be on the other, you best call a cab. The bicyclists are also miffed that they have to share the bike lanes with buses and right hand-turning traffic. We import thousands of Europen students each summer and offer them bicycles as transportation - and then use them as target practice.

Phil and Jackie Smith, owners of Acres of Books on Long Beach Boulevard, have agreed to sell the store s large lot to the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency for about $2.8 million. Relocation plans for the iconic store are uncertain. (Stephen Carr / Staff Photographer )

LOL-That would make it impossible for the students to cross the street from the dorms to their classes.  The other morning I was watching a student cross, and I swear she was sleep walking.  As for crossing, it is only a four way street, & many areas have little islands dividing the road so there are only two lanes to cross at a time.

Sadly, the school isn't the only area this is a problem, people have been hit in the downtown area.

Well I wasn't much more than 12 (13 maybe) when "Company" came out.  I used to delight in reading the A&L section of the New York Times Sunday edition when it came to my junior high school library, and I to this day remember the first full page ad for "Company."  I predicted right then it would be a hit if only for its super-cool logo and ambivalent one-word title (Company?  As in guests?  Or a theater troupe?).

Evening all!  The clerical meeting went ok.  The same subjects were gone over once again.  My boss is hopeful that at least some of the information will be retained.

I, on the other hand, believe everyone forgot everything before they hit door to leave.   I base that on past clerical meetings.

All 2 dozen donuts and the box of donut holes I bought were gone.  They didn't have any problems remembering they were on the table.   ;)

Wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles!  My mother's email has been glitchy since before Christmas.  Around the end of January, I got it to where she could receive, but not send.  Just now, here at work, I've gotten several messages from her - she called her provider all by herself and after they asked her to repeat her birthdate (she was born in 1918!), she said they were ver-r-r-ry patient with her.

I'm so glad they were good to your Mom, DR Ginny.  I didn't know she was born in 1918.  That's when my Mom was born.

No more iced coffee for me!  I hate coffee.  I have always hated coffee.  However, for whatever strange reason, I've found that I LOVE McD's iced coffee.

When I picked the donuts up at Dunkin Donuts this morning, I saw that they have iced coffee as well so I got some.  YUCK!  It was sooo bitter.  I think it must have had tons of caffine in it as well because my heart started pounding and felt like I was having some kind of rush.

Never again.  Because I'm prone to kidney stones (like the one I have as we speak) I'm not supost to have dark liquids anyway.  I know, I was being bad but since I have the stone and have to have surgery anyway, I figured, what the heck?

Today we received our Hamilton High alumni news mailing.  There is a very nice tribute for Joel Siegel from one of his classmates, who would also be a classmate of my brother.

Yes and no.  Bear the Bed Hog keeps moving ME! over to the edge of the bed but the small part I had was comfortable.

Sheena was at the very bottom of the bed by my feet and that wasn't to bad.

The nice thing about those beds is the edge is the same as the middle.  When i was looking at mattresses that was very important to me since the edge is often all the room Sherlock gives me. :D  And Bear is larger, or weighs more, than Sherlock.

Does Cranberry Juice help with your kidney stones, Danise?  It has been a life saver for me.

I've tired it but it doesn't seem to help.  I'm on meds that are supost to stop them from forming but I still got them.

My doctor just increased my dose so we'll see.
