MAY I?
« on: May 01, 2010, 12:02:15 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were very May-like, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - on their calendar it's not May, it's Moo, the lusty month of Moo.

Last night, TAO had our opening night of The Brain From Planet X!  The theater is set up to hold about 77 seats, stadium-style, so you can see everything from every seat.  I don't know the official count, but it looked to me like we were at least two-thirds filled.  The show went quite well.  Josh told us that act one went about 63 minutes, but act two was about 54 minutes!  (I must say that Josh tends to take some of the tempos a little faster than the tempos on the CD. ::))

That's about the right length, really.  Did you get some nice laughs - I always say if you get the first laugh of the show - the Feel-o-Rama gag with the audience plant, then you're safe.

Fortunately, there weren't any scene-change goobers, like the one on Thursday.  The audience loved it!  They laughed.  The mark really enjoyed the moment and so did the audience.  Friends/family stayed after and couldn't be complimentary enough about the show and our production.  My sister and her boyfriend even had a great time! ;D

That sounds great.  Tell someone they need to add David Wechter's name to the writing credit on the poster.

They love that first Feel-O-Rama gag!  The plant and the actress who feels him are the people who play Rod and Donna.  Then he just picks her up and carries her backstage.

Sent.  I'll also check with him at tonight's performance...and since the poster is also the cover of the program, that will have to be dealt with, too. :-\

I just don't want David to be upset - he did a great job and deserves lots of credit.

Absolutely!  I'm surprised that the poster had that mistake.  I would've assumed that the guy who made the poster would've been given the complete and correct information.

This just hit me...gently, though. ;) I don't think I mentioned that we have a Theramin in our band of players!  We actually have a keyboard, electric bass, drums and Theramin!  Christina plays the thing and she's pretty good!

That's fun!  We only had a theremin at LACC - we prerecorded it for the other runs.

I think I'd heard that she borrowed it from a friend of hers, so she/TAO didn't have to buy it.

Deb, depending on how you use your laptop you can still use a mouse, of course, if you're literally using it on your lap using a mouse becomes exceedingly difficult but we use our laptop on a table. We have attached a mouse to it for ease of use.

Why don't businesses put their hours of operation in the phone book or on their website so we - the great unwashed - know when they are available for consultation.
