This morning I was reinstalling one of my Blu-ray players, and I put in the DVD of DOCTOR DOLITTLE (1967 musical version) to check the upconversion and sound.

It struck me that even though this was a fairly early DVD release, this DVD still holds up beautifully and is a simply gorgeous transfer. I don't know if it's the Todd-AO photography or what, but I can't WAIT for this to one day be available in high definition.

I also got sucked into the movie, too. Was just going to watch Newley's "My Friend the Doctor" and just sat there watching "The Vegeterian," "Talk to the Animals," and "At the Crossroads" along with the dialogue scenes between them. The film may be too long and sprawl a bit, but I think I find it more accomplished and entertaining now than I did when it was first released.

Now I'm going to head downstairs since I've finished with my morning surf (goes faster when one skips his morning workout on Fridays) and tidy up a few things before cleaning up to go out on my usual Friday errands.

Good morning, all! The jerk above me didn't come home last night - if he did he was unusually quiet - and I slept very late. I have some work here to do, so I will stay home today amd accomplish what I can.

Yesterday was a good McGlinnventory day and almost everything went well. I left a large pot of vegetable beef soup sitting out last night because I forgot to put iit into the refrigerator after it had cooled down, so I'm wondering if it's still good, or if I should pitch it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Safe travel vibes to all the NW Olympia-bound travelers today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I did not receive BK's book yesterday...but then I ordered later then most, so it may come at a later date. My hope is that it does not arrive today and sit on my front steps all day, and all night!
I did however, receive James Best's autobiography in the mail yesterday. I opened the package thinking it was BK's book and kept waiting to the CD to drop out...but nada...then I realized it was the wrong package!
I of course will not repeat my oft-told anecdote about my high school literary magazine class writing an episode of ROOM 222, and then having a private audience with Ms. Valentine and Ms. Strangis.
Oh, wait, I guess I just did.  ;)
Well, about an hour ago, I had almost hit "purchase" on a 2:15 flight from newark to Seattle, which would have gotten to Seattle at 5:30 and was a very reasonable price, even an aisle seat.  Felt that something mad like a quick whirlwind trip would help relieve the tax work issues that have (after the killing work of tax season) arisen from the firm's merger - which I'll not write about here EVER, because there may be "issues" - to say the least.  :)
Just went back to the Continental site, really planning to do it, leave in 5 minutes, but now my aisle seat is gone - and not for anything will I fly in a middle seat from Newark to Seattle.
It felt good that I could have done it.  probably much better that I didn't
JMK - Yes, it's because you're only attracted to women and so many of us really don't like that we don't stand a chance with you.  :)  Of course, I've never met you, but I'm assuming that's how all the gay men here who have met you feel.
Package from Kritzerland is here.  I'll wait for Skip to help open it because my nerve is still s little pinched.
Hmm,. another reason it's good that I didn't take that whirlwind trip.
I can't believe denizens of HHW would have such low standards.  ;)
TOD:
BD:  I've been catching up on reviews, so just watched ACIS AND GALATEA and TALES OF BEATRIX POTTER for work.  For "fun," I started NINE, which is fine if not great so far.  Last night I watched the first hour or so of THE PATRIOT, which I found unexpectedly involving.
Caught Promises Promises last night.  Poorly sung.  Poorly danced.  Well-acted, especially Katie Finneran.  Turkey Lurkey a low point (!)
And I'd be interested in learning why Jonathan Tunick's orchestrations have garnered a Tony nomination.  They sound, to my ears, exactly like his originals.  If he's achieved this with fewer instruments, that's impressive - but award-worthy?
